This company lacks customer service skills. Please make sure to follow all aspects of your original contracts. They wont remind you of this when you call to cancel. They will tell you its taken care of as of your last billing cycle; however, when you receive a bill, they will tell you that you need to abide by the terms of your contract and bill you another month. Sounds like a ploy. Unfortunately for me, we signed the contract many years ago and I wasn't aware of the written cancellation policy. It wouldn't have been a problem to do if they mentioned it in my call to cancel. Just be aware.

We were a long-term customer (years) without knowing that EEIcould not tell at their end whenever our alarm system could NOT send them a signal. We are retired and were gone for 2 months, during which time we had a possible lightening strike that put our system out of service, for how long we don't know. We assumed we had protection (monitoring) but we did not. EEI charged us without providing the service, because they could never tell when THEIR system was not working.
When we returned home, both our wall alarm-control pads were beeping loudly and it was clear the system was out of order, but EEI could not detect that. Even when we then called EEI, they could not tell at their end that the system was not working at all. (We do have a battery back-up, but that does not help in this situation.) EEI will never tell you this is a possibility when you buy their service. If ANYTHING puts your home service out of order, EEI will not know it, and you will be unprotected until you personally find that your system is down. What use is it if you expect protection 24/7, but EEI can never tell you when you are NOT protected? They will certainly collect your money 24/7.
EEI requires advance payment QUARTERLY for their service. When you quit their service (as we did), they withhold a full month's refund, claiming you must give them 30 days' notice to quit. Apparently that is somewhere in the fine print on the back of their service contract. BUYER BEWARE of both issues above.

I own my own home alarm system. This call was just to reaffix a window senso rin the guest bath. Horribly, the repair person replaced the battery, somehow blew the wired fire alarm and then charged me for a new one and then on top of that, neglected to fix the window sensor that I had called them for in the first place. As we were leaving for an extended vacation, I had to ask a friend to fix it so I could arm the system while we a were gone.
They had had my monitoring business for two years prior without a contract. The worker had had me sign a service contract that was presented to me as a work order. When I was late paying them for three months after an illness, I contacted THEM to make payment The bi#©h of an office manager refused to accept my apology and my payment and instead, accelerated my contract and sent my account into collection for $2500 with some criminal collection agency, Lazarus Financial http://www.ripoffreport.com/directory/lazarus-financial-group.aspx.

I am a disabled veteran confined to a wheelchair. These folks advertise as being ex-military. Well let me tell you, their workers do shoddy work they have a lousy office manager and they don't give a crap about their fallen brothers.
Let em take me to court.

Very well. We had a large national company that installed and monitored our residential alarm system and I requested that they come out and review our system with the intention that we would be upgrading the system. We were advised that the review of the current system would require a $100.00 inspection fee which would be credited toward the installation of a new system. The national company was less than pleasant to deal with over the phone and charged approximately $35.00 per month in monthly monitoring fees. EEI came out for free, assessed our needs, scheduled an installation date, promptly installed the system, will be charging approximately $20.00 per month and is very easy to communicate with.

Paid them for a full year in advance for two years. Never got back to me about the alarm addition to add to my existing system. Called twice with no response. Set off my alarms by accident and they never called to see if I was OK. After my annual payment was up, wrote on bill that I wanted to cancel service, in about a couple of weeks it was turned off. They are now trying to tell me that my contract renewed because I didn't send a letter to a different address on the contract. I have asked at least four times for a copy of the contract and they still haven't provided. Be very, very careful. Bad servicing along with bad customer service!

THEY CAME OUT AND WENT THROUGH THE DIFFERENT OPTIONS TO INSTALL THE NEW SYSTEM. THEY ARE ALWAYS HELPFUL.
