DGS KITCHEN & BATH CABINETS

Terrible experience and nightmare. They have my money, I have no kitchen. See below. DO NOT hire DGS Kitchen & Bath Cabinets to renovate your kitchen. I contracted with the owner, Carlos Suarez and his son, Dennis, on January 26, 2021. I needed to give 50% down at that time which was a large sum of money. I had already checked him out through various agencies and he had done my neighbor's kitchen, which looked great. I know my neighbors for over 30 years and I thought it was safe to go with Mr. Suarez as they knew him well. It is now SIX MONTHS later and NO WORK has been done, they've never even come to my house again to show me any style of cabinet or to choose countertops. I have repeatedly sent texts and spoken to him a few times on the phone and I've gotten put off each time (two more weeks, two more weeks). While I understand that materials are hard to come by during COVID and it's tough to get workers, this doesn't give contractors carte blanche to drag out a project and take people's money. There are many companies going through the same thing and yet, work is being done albeit with some delays. Since this transaction happened during months of COVID, we thought we were giving a business a chance to thrive and made the mistake of giving them cash since we knew them through a good neighbor. Obviously a mistake and they are dishonest. If you can't do the job for whatever reason, DO THE RIGHT THING, give back the money and say you can't do it. It's 6 months now, he has my money, I have no new kitchen. How long, is long enough? I've had to report him to the Attorney General, the BBB and Hillsborough County Consumer Protection...sheriff will be next and small claims court. I've requested a refund, BBB has requested my refund and Hillsborough County Consumer Protection has requested my refund, but he doesn't respond. Guaranteed my money was used for other purposes and he doesn't have it anymore. I'm just giving fair warning to anyone else who thinks of hiring them to beware of what could happen. BTW, they have a page on Facebook and their website is no longer valid. Zero stars is what they deserve.
