David is very professional, a good communicator, arrives on time, is prepared and organized, and exceptionally clean about workplace dust and debris.  He kept me well informed about product differences and alternative ideas, daily work progress, and costs.  I haven't found a task that David doesn't have the skill set to achieve successfully.  Bottom line:  our home is much more livable, healthy, functional, and beautiful because we hired David Rodriguez.

The job should of taken an hour or so at best turn but turned out to be a 4 hour job with two trips to the  hardware store. David kept me informed of each problem he encountered and i agreed the with his conclusions. The problems encountered were not due to anything he did wrong but were due to the age and condition of the copper pipes due to being exposed to the weather, and multiple coats of paint.. In the end the job looked professional and he apologized for the time it took to complete the job. I offered
to pay him extra for the time he spent but he did not want any more than the amount quoted. In  the end he did accept a small token of my appreciation.
Great guy with a pleasant  personality and dedicated to doing the job right.

This is a man that does just enough to get by.  He does not have the pride of ownership in doing a job well-done.  For example:  When he wrote up the original quote the painting of the entire bathroom (walls and ceiling) was in this original quote but at the end of the job he tried to exclude painting our skylights and the painting job was not acceptable so I put painters tape everywhere it needed a touch up and he still missed a couple but I just let it go as it wasn't worth fighting him.  Also he charged me an extra $100 for installing a ceiling fan that was included in the original quote.  I didn't feel that was fair as the fans were already purchased when he came to look over the job to quote me; both fans in their boxes were present in the room.  David also damaged our Jacuzzi with his ladder and I had to find a company to come out and repair it after I told him about it.  If I never did bring it up, David would never have told me.  The repair of the Jacuzzi for an estimate of $109 from Jim Lee who we found on Angie's List (btw was very professional & did a great job).  David told me he would mail me a check a week went by and there still was no check.  I texted him and he said he forgot and that he was sorry.  He did bring by his check.

He had to make an appointment to come back and complete the painting job. He came back to paint the door, and I was unable to get to the door. We set another appointment, and he has yet to come back.

He answered my call on my first attempt to contact him on 1/31/15 and made an apt to do an estimate on 2/2/15.  His estimate was $380 and he said he could do the work that week.  Another Angie's list contractor gave an over the phone estimate of $1,000-$1,500 and said they couldn't do it for at least a couple of weeks.  David arrived with an assistant 15 minutes early to do the work.  He found that he needed to move the electrical box to accommodate the double oven, which was replacing a single oven and microwave.  The job took about 6 hrs and he enclosed the work space in plastic when doing messy work and frequently cleaned the work area, leaving everything clean when he left.  The only wrinkle was he misjudged the extent of the finish oak carpentry work needed (it encroached on the two drawers under the oven and required a large custom replacement drawer), which I agreed to do myself.  He presented me a bill for the original estimate amount of $380, however, I paid him $500 because I felt that they earned it.

David arrived on time and went straight to work. He completed a punch list of tasks we had and then painted 7 doors and all trim
in hallway. David is a very good painter. He is detail oriented, was meticulous and left no trace that any painting had been done.

David is an honest, hard working man who is professional and did a really solid job on all of our projects.  He is going to tell you exactly what you need to do without going overboard to do unnecessary work on your house.  If you have an issue going on in your home, and you're not really sure how impending or serious the problem is, David will come out and tell you what you need to know in order for you to make an informed decision about how to fix the problem.  He did this with a window leak and resulting water damage problem that we had.  He helped me figure out how to address the cause of the leak and prevent it from ever happening again by instructing me on how to cut back our trees and bushes close to the window.  He worked on our home like he was working on his own.  I would have him back in a heartbeat.
Also, as an aside, he is sincere and funny.  Home projects and repairs/renovations are NOT fun!  He made is seem painless, he really did.  It was a pleasure having him in our home.  We also trust him implicitly.  He was there in our home working hard when we were not able to be there.  GREAT guy.

David arrived at the agreed upon time and immediately got to work.  He removed the old pull down attic stair and installed a new pull down attic stair.   Originally I did not have any trim around the old pull down stair and certainly was not expecting David to furnish or install final trim.  However he did.  Quite unexpected!  He adjusted the overall length of the stairs so they correctly lined up with the distance from the ceiling and garage floor.   The new stairs work great and were installed very professionally.

I had reached out to other handymen who quoted me more than twice the price to replace my front door and never seemed available to do the work. David was able to install the new door, trim and brick molding just a day after coming by to give me an estimate. It looks great and I will definitely call him for help with my next project.

As I do not live where our house is located, I have not been able to actually see what was done, but Mr. Rodriguez contacted our tenants, looked at the problems, and told us what he thought needed done.  I am waiting to hear from our tenants when it rains next, if the work done fixed the problem.

He is superior just phenomenal . He does it all, he does it very well, and his prices are very reasonable. He has a lot of background in what he does.  He fixed some things that some other handymen had came out and worked on and he fixed it right. He is very professional and I think charges too little for the work he does. I will definitely be using him in the future.

David was very professional.  He returned calls promptly, scheduled a time to do the repair.  Had to re-schedule, but called to let me know.  He did the siding repair quickly, professionally and for a fair price.  I would absolutely use David again for other repairs.

This job went poorly from start to finish.  David scheduled a date for the service, couldn't make it and rescheduled several times.  Also:
  - He lied about his experience.  He does not know how to lay plaster correctly.
  - He skipped multiple areas of the ceiling in order to save on materials when we had agreed he would re-coat the entire surface.
  - He kept the leftover materials that I paid for.
  - He left numerous discolored areas, bare patches and 2 stains in the final work.
  - He didn't mask properly, splashing plaster on the crown molding which will now have to be cleaned and repainted.
  - His labor rate for himself and his assistant, allowing for materials, worked out to $50/hr.  Much to high for this area.
I have to say in all honesty, there is really no reason to hire David Rodriguez at all.

Response from David Rodriguez Home Repairs
"The entire ceiling was plastered as agreed, some of the other 2 coats that were on it did not come off, causing the new material to discolor. He knew before the job started that it would have to be painted. Because this ceiling had so many coats the new plaster dried at different rates so the texture looks not exactly the same."

David, once again, did an amazing job.  David requires a deposit up front, which makes sense, he needs supplies and then usually nothing more until completed.  However, on occasion, for larger jobs, there is a payment part way through for additional supplies, he spells it out upfront.
First of all he arrives on time, or you get a phone call.  He works a full day, unless of course, the work requires the day end early, like paint or texture drying.  He moved the door going into the house from the garage (bad location when my house was built).  David came and did an assessment to make sure it could be done, got the specification for the type of door and provided solid recommendations that would be suit the needs of myself and the house for years to come.
He is honest and direct without offending, willing to explain all the details, and I can trust he will do the job perfectly.  It took 2 1/2 days.  He matched the texture for the walls almost perfectly (you can never get a perfect match to the original) and I am the only person that would see the difference and I don't even notice it (and I am an A type personality).  He left me with a door that looks like it had always been there.  Everything was perfectly matching in color and completed.  There was a funny gap between the door and hardwood, he found a creative fix and it is perfect, not some "it will do" kind of fix.
I have used David for a few years now and I will continue to do so in the future.  I have had to be away from the house while he is working and I never have a concern for my possessions or the condition of the house.  He locks up when he leave and leaves a tidy workspace.

He told me it was working and I took his word for it.  When I turned on the water there was nothing but scolding hot water coming out of it and the other had no water coming out of it at all.  I then hired him on the 17th to put together a $500 computer desk which cost me $200 for the build.  I then was charged an additional $295 for more house repairs which he had messed up.  He came to look at the faucets and the bathtub and explained that he could fix them for $60 cash.  I paid him and he took it apart and put it back together and nothing was fixed.  The water is not even there anymore.  He did put in three new fixtures but other than that, nothing else is working.

Very responsive, came right out and then today came out with panels to do roof on my porch.  They first set of panels were too light and he made the trip to exchange them without complaint. Always on time and let me know when he was coming, so I appreciate that.  He certainly cleaned up everything very well.  I will certainly be using him in the future.

Once I set up a time to have him look at the potential repairs at a rental property, I had to contact him to find out the estimate. I had to contact him several times to arrange the repairs. He did not let me know if they were complete and the bill. I had to contact him again weeks later because I had not received the bill. He was a nice guy, but quite forgetful.
The work was performed on a home out of the area. When my husband actually looked at the work, he couldn't believe we actually paid someone to do what was done. I could have done it myself and saved the $180.00. Sad to say, we will not be using him in future projects or repairs.
