Mark and his crew just left and all I have to say is WOW!! I can't wait for a torrential rainstorm to try this new system out. Mark was very professional in his evaluation of our needs and his estimate was in line with others I solicited. His crew was friendly, hard-working and did a great job; in fact, it turned out better than I expected. Our job required a lot of root pruning and, when the company I contacted to do the work didn't respond to my calls, Mark was able to refer Steve, from Hurricane Tree Specialists, to do the work. But that is another review in itself. If you need property drainage done, get Mark. You won't be sorry.

We have had storm water issues that have been getting worse for the past several years. This past summer we had had enough and decided that the situation needed to be resolved. Mark was one of several contractors that we had our to give us a quote. Mark gave us 2 options - one was less expensive and involved dealign the draining in the yard only - the one we went with included a full remodel of the pool deck to increase the drain size and install pavers in such a way that the water would fall away from the home even if the rain was bad enough to overflow the pool. Did I want to spend this much money - NO!! but it needed to be done and I could not be happier. The deck looks amazing.....
They showed promptly every day at 8AM and make significant progress every day. The crew was focused and communicated with us constantly.
We have 4 large dogs that needed to be let out regularly and they notified us when they were taking breaks and lunch so that we could make that happen. This is one of those projects that I can say we feel as though we got our moneys worth.
We enjoyed the experience so much we have Mark quoting some sod installation and sprinkler work.....

Mark and his team executed the work professionally and as contracted. What I appreciated most about Mark was his proactive approach to identify other issues around my property that I didn't see and to suggest solutions. Water is the enemy. Mark described how water was affecting my property.

I want to start out saying a BIG THANK YOU to Controlled landscape. We had major flooding at the bottom of our driveway during 2 storms within a week of each other. I called several companies out from Angies list and the internet. Most companies advertising drainage are no longer doing it and other called to say won't do our area. Mark came out and saw the problem. I had pictures on my phone of the issues and they were major. My home is on a hill and I was ending up with 1 1/2 to 2 feet of water going over my retaining wall and pool deck. What a mess. This was the only company that did a cleanup to where you couldn't tell anything was done. I have had to pick up after every contractor to my home except for these guys. They showed up when scheduled with a crew to move rocks, cut out driveway, install drains and run pipes out to the lake. They connected all downspouts underground did a wonderful job. First rain they called to make sure everything was ok. Told them we didn't get the rain here . On 4/18 we had a downpour. That's what I was waiting for. And guess what ..NO WATER under my carport. Completely dry . I AM THRILLED. I used a contactor previously to add a drain and ended up with the drainpipes disconnecting and a major mess during every rain.. I would not hesitate to use them again. As a matter of fact I did. $2250.00 They pressure washed/sanded/ and resealed (2 coats) my large pool deck and patio and it looks beautiful. Job well done and appreciated. When I saw my dry driveway In the instance of drainage issues you do get what you pay for .

Whenever it rained I had a problem with water flooding the pool deck area and threatening to overflow into the house. The company assessed the problem and installed what I think is a French Drain. Their fix has solved my problem for the time being. It has rained more this year than any other season that I can recall and thus fare I have no issues with the deck flooding . I can only hope that the fix they installed continues to hold. There are two reasons for the low rating. The first is the way they gave me an estimate to do the job. Their initial verbal quote was $2,900. After further discussions it came down a few hundred more and as I was walking him out the door he changed his quote to $1,800. I agreed, because I really needed the work done as soon as possible. He seemed like a used car salesman because he kept referencing he had to get his Partner's approval. Glad his partner agreed to the $1,800. For this reason I will not recommend the company to anyone. The second reason for the low rating is that while they were doing the repair work they cut a television cable. The company agreed to repay me for the cost I incurred with the cable company to repair the cable. The first call I made to them they said I would receive a payment from them within two weeks. To date I have never received the payment. I have placed several calls to them but they go to an answering machine. It is not worth my time to keep trying to call them. If they cannot keep their word about reimbursing me I have my doubts that the work will hold up. Do not know whether or not they cut corner while doing the work.

I am pleased with the worked Mark and his guys did installing the drainage. When they finished working, they patched the grasses and left my property neat and clean. I requested a rain barrel to be installed but when I bought a wrong kind, Mark was so accommodating that he volunteered to buy it himself. (Pls. note rain barrel is extra cost). I recommend Controlled landscape Services to everybody here on my neighborhood.

I had contacted several landscapers in the past some of which are on Angie's list. All of them said that drain could not be installed because my property graded upwards toward the street. I really thought I could not have a drain installed. But thought I would give it one more try. When Mark came out to look at my property he was the first contractor to say it was possible to install a drain. The price was high but I decided to go ahead with the project. And boy am I happy I did. SInce the drain has been installed I no longer have a lake on my side and in my back yard when it rains. I do not have any ponding of water at all! And we have had a lot of rain in the past month.
There is a saying - You get what you pay for.... So yes some may think their prices are high, but for me with my severe drainage issue it was well worth the money. The crew was very professional and it took 2 full days to complete.
I am very happy with the work and recommend them to others

Wow! What a great experience. We had a chronic flooding problem on our pool deck and the water was creeping up on the house during heavy rains to the point where we used sandbags. Mark and Dennis met with me and went over what we needed to do to solve our problem. They spent a lot of time telling me and showing me exactly what they would do and how it would work. The next day they started the job! It took 3 days to finish everything and they did a fantastic job. They even pressure washed the stamped concrete by our front door.
I plan on using Mark and Dennis for future work as they can do anything! Glad that I called them and recommend them fully!
BTW: First big rain came and the drain worked to absolute perfection! There was no water to be seen on the deck!

Arrived on time. Worked hard. Cleaned up. Professional. And now that I have had two very heavy rains, I am delighted with the results. The rain water drains away from the house instead of towards it.

Professional and top level workmanship at a very reasonable price. I so appreciate the owner and his crew for delivering me from an existing nightmare of a problem that the prior owner of the property never disclosed as required by law. Two thumbs up ^^.

The guys were in and out in a day and did a great job. They made sure all the underground pipes and wires were marked. They sealed the outer wall of the house where we were having water issues, installed the drain and did touch-up paint work. Everyone was polite and professional.

He started the job when he said he would and ran the drainage system.  He had to dig down several feet to install the system.  After the system was installed I ordered products for the new walkway.  I showed him what I had picked out and he suggested that the light could be difficult to keep clean in a driveway.  He suggested another color which  was fine with me.I am completely satisfied with the work that was done and would certainly hire Mark and his crew again.

Overall it went good. The job was delayed a day due to completion of another job however they did call and notify me. Mark explained exactly what they were going to install in detail and reviewed everything with me. He was great to work with. The job took two days to complete. The crew arrived on time each day and worked the whole day. Had a few mishaps - cut the cable line and broke the water line; however they patched the water line and I called the cable company to come out. I would do business with Mark again.

Staff showed up when they promised, gave a written estimate, and furnished a written contract. They did the work within the time frame as agreed, and were paid as agreed. The quality of the new lawn depends on the quality of the sod, which will only be known over time. They furnished the service agreed to in a businesslike manner and I would use them again.

Dennis came by while I was working in the yard. He indicated that his crew was in the neighborhood and asked if I was interested in having my trees trimmed. We live in a dense live oak hammock and our yard is almost completely covered with an oak canopy. I usually don't consider workers who come by unsolicited, however, they indicated that they had a bucket truck and were insured. Dennis gave me his card and I checked the list before I committed to the service. While the company only had a few recent references, for the price I felt that the risk was worth the potential positive results. I am glad I decided to let them do the work. Dennis and his crew did an excellent job. They were very careful how they brought down the larger branches, they cut the large branches into firewood for us and they picked up the yard, raked the driveway and used a blower to complete the clean up. They took about 1.5 - 2 hours to do the work and they arrived earlier than I expected to begin the work. All and all, I am very happy with their work and would definitely use them again.

Dennis was walking around the neighborhood the week before and had spoken to me about our trees needing some trimming work. He gave me an estimate on the spot and explained what needed to be done. It really was perfectly timed as we were thinking about having this done soon in preparation for hurricane season; not to mention one of the trees, a pine, was dropping needles all over part of the roof of our home. He had said that they would be in the neighborhood on Wednesday and left me with a flyer. I called them on Tuesday saying that I wanted to go ahead and schedule them to trim our trees. He said he'd call back to confirm the date. When we got home from running errands that Tuesday, they were already there working - like 12 guys all over our property - a veritable hive of activity. They were there for a good 40 minutes and had even cleaned up the pine needles from the roof. They also gave us information that the big webs in our pecan tree weren't bad and didn't need to be cut out (apparently, they're worms/spiders that assist in pollination). Overall thoughts: they were quick and professional and reasonably priced (another tree company had given us an estimate of $350 for 2 trees). They moved plants and chairs out of the way in the back of the house and didn't leave a mess of tree trimmings at the end of it. Chairs and plants weren't returned to their places, but that didn't bother me that much as we're still constantly rearranging back there.

After phoning Mark, B and Bobby arrived and had the front yard sodded before I knew it. They did not disrupt my busy day with needless hand holding. I received instructions on watering and maintenance once the yard was in and they were gone. It is nice to deal with people who know their craft nowadays. Not always the case with others.

I told Mark about the flooding in one area and he said it was because the sidewalk was so low there. So I agreed that for an additional charge I would have them tile that area and then seal all the travertine. At that time they could fix the problems with the original install. Even less effort was taken to do a good and professional job. After Bruno finished his repairs I still noticed several uneven pavers. And when we got our first rain all the sand ran out from in-between the pavers. I called Mark and informed about this. The bottom line is that Mark says I should have not gone to Bruno to do the additional work. However, Mark knew about it and was informed about everything. It was Mark that chose not to come and look at the project. In order to have everything easier I thought I would have them add the extra tile and repair the pooling area of water in front of the door and seal the patio. The additional price was quoted at $1700.00. Ok, I thought then I will just be done and everything will be repaired. Bruno requested an additional $200.00 more for extra tile so I paid it. He never prepared the surface properly. Mark continues to say he just does not know what Bruno was doing. (To lay an adequate amount of crushed aggregate stone base, bedding sand and pavers, excavate the site well below the desired surface height of the project to allow for the base and sand layers. Simply calculate the thickness of the base, sand and paver layers to determine the depth. If the soil is clay, place a geotextile layer over the exposed soil and up the sides of the excavated area. This will provide additional stability for the base. Not all was done. I paid Mark an additional fee of $350.00 to oversee Bruno and bring some trim to fix the sloppy mess in an area. Their answer to everything was that the sealer will seal everything. I checked with the company they purchased the product from and they disagreed with them. It would have ruined my travertine and it would not have sealed the sand or grout at all.One expert in the field I had a expert in lippage removal give me their professional opinion. The rep from GM gave it in writing. They told me that they were unable to help me because the “Bottom line” is that the original underlayment is bad. They did not pack down the under-layment properly. So whether or not grout is good or bad it makes no difference. The entire tile needs to come up and the ground setup in the correct manner to handle the title. I would like the company to reimburse me the amount it will take to correct this mess.
