CAROL ELKINS PROFESSIONAL CLEANING

I am a senior citizen on a fixed income. I am also in a wheelchair (that will damage the woodwork when I go through a doorway} and have a hospital bed in the living room. I needed help cleaning my house. After Carol cleaned my house for a few months, I sent her photos of how filthy my house is since she has been cleaning my house. Carol I would not recommend sending photos of how dirty the house is after she cleans it. Here is Carol's response to me: September 17. 2023 2:22pm Nadine, I'm trying not to insult you here but your house is in very very poor condition, cleanliness-wise. Items such as the baseboards, actually need to be painted or replaced. As for the base of the soap dispenser, it gets cleaned so I don't know what that mineral buildup would be. As for the cubby I have cleaned the front edges I did not remove all the containers but push them back and dusted the front ledge. The little ledge in the bathroom over the sink or soap holder got wiped down, as did all the black ceramic trim. If you're looking for somebody who's going to get down on their hands and knees with a q-tip or a toothbrush and scrub the Base boards, that is a move out / spring cleaning issue, not basic regular cleaning. And the very black areas might actually be mold and that's a whole nother issue.I'm not your person. All my clients are every other week, just like you, however when I go to dust your house, it's like it hasn't been dusted in months. How often are you changing your AC filter? That should be done every 30 days for a normal house with no pets, seeing you have two large dogs you probably need to do that every two weeks or so, that's according to my AC guy and several others. I'm doing the exact same things I did the first time I came and the subsequent when you and your roommate said the place looked terrific. The picture of pencils and trash on the floor, you didn't indicate where that was but there was nothing like that visible behind a pile of something. September 17, 2023 2:56pm The pencil and trash on the floor was not there when I left, I don't know if you moved a pile of junk or some furniture, but I would not have left that on the floor. You are more than welcome to shop around for other well-established cleaning businesses, with a track record as good as mine and prices as low as mine, but when you do,, you need to point out that you want your woodwork scrubbed. It seems so bizarre to me, that you have a rug you said the cat was peeing on, but still has not been washed and still smells like cat pee , every flat surface in the house has a pile, bag, or plastic container with all manner of items dumped in them. Nothing is put away in closets or drawers, or organized into boxes stacked neatly, and you're looking at items that I am absolutely positive, that we're in the condition they're in now ,years ago. Your house literally looks like it was ransacked, frankly it's hard to even know where to begin, because there are no cleared off surfaces and even the floors have boxes and bags of who knows what piled all over the place. I only get a house that looks like yours about every 15 years or longer, and for some reason although they're Hoarders, and the house looks like chaos, everything that's wrong or ugly about the house they think I'm going to come in and wave a magic wand and for some reason it'll look like better homes and gardens. Frankly it's extremely depressing just to walk in and look at that house, because it shows that nobody cares. In addition after leaving your home, I have to go to extreme measures to clean the vacuum inside and out and the brush roll, I made the mistake of coming home to vacuum my beautiful white carpet after leaving your house only to leave a nasty dark streak about 6 ft long from some crud that was on your floor that my vacuum went over and got hung in the brush roller. Needless to say the white carpet had to be professionally cleaned. So as it has always gone with houses like yours that are extremely neglected, and are basically trashed, because the owner will not pick up put away organize and throw items out. I can no longer help you, and frankly it's a big relief!

Carol is quite simply amazing! She does such a great job every single time she comes. She even will fit an extra thing or two in if she has time. She is willing to clean my house with four dogs and will even let my elderly dog out for a quick run in the yard. She is by far the best cleaner I’ve ever had and she is so friendly and kind. Carol does a great job of cleaning my house. She come every other week and I am quite pleased with her work. She goes above and beyond what I need done and will do extra when asked. Carol also takes care of my two cats by sitting for me when I go on vacation. They are always well taken care of and since she has cats of her own I know they are taken care of.

Carol was able to come out the same day we contacted her to give us an estimate, and was by far the BEST estimate we got . We also liked the fact that she is the owner operator and we would not have to deal with different maids , which we had been through before UGH ! We could tell right off that Carol loves pets , she inquired as to our dogs name and asked if we would like her to let him out in the back yard to relieve himself on the days she was here, she even asked where his "treats" were & if she could give him one when she was here. We have used Carol for over a year now and we are so glad we found her She is very dependable and does a great job cleaning our home .My wife loves it because Carol brings ALL her own equipment and chemicals , saving us the trouble & expense of furnishing them We have referred Carol to our friends and they have also used her and are very happy. We have used several housekeepers over the years and Carol is by far the best & least expensive, not to mention her good nature ,& flexibility in rescheduling us when we had painters here and the fact that we know when she is here our dog is in good hands. I highly recommend hiring Carol, you will not be sorry!

I have been using Carol to clean my house for over 1 year now and she is great! Cleans better than I could and helps me with some various additional tasks if I need help. I am semi-disabled and sometimes need a little extra help. She is always ready and able to help me. She is flexible with her time and always punctual. I highly recommend her!

I highly recommend Carol if you are looking for a reliable, meticulous and personable cleaner. Carol has been cleaning our house bi-weekly for several months now and she has been great (coming home on Tuesdays after she's been here is my favorite day of the week)! She is always on time, professional and open to feedback (I requested she clean something specific once and she did - with a toothbrush!!). The price is a little more than I'd like, but that's because we have a 2 story house and she has to carry her supplies up and down the stairs which I can understand. Also, she is worth it because she is great with dogs (which is why I contacted her initially after reading other reviews). We have an energetic 60lb pit-bull and I wanted to make sure whoever we hired would be comfortable with her. Even after she jumped on Carol when she walked in the door to do a walk-through/give an estimate, she agreed to take us on as clients. I was worried the first time Carol came and we weren't here that our dog would bother her the entire time, but Carol left the sweetest note saying that she had been great. Now Carol takes a few extra minutes each time she comes to give our dog some love and play with her!

Carol has been cleaning our home for several months now after we found her on Angies List. She was quick to respond to our first inquiring phone call and made an appointment to come out to our home and see it. Right from the start Carols attention went to our dog. She wanted him to be familiar with him and she was a natural. We agreed to have Carol start cleaning our home shortly after we finalized her quote. We felt confident and trusting to leave Carol a key to our home and have not been disappointed. Carol allows herself in lets our dog out for a bit and secures our home upon her departure. Our home is clean and neat when we arrive home in the afternoon. I have to say that the best quality that has made our relationship with Carol so positive is her openness to feedback and communication. She is quick to act when we leave her a note or mention a troublesome spot. She will leave us notes, or even call for clarification if she has any questions. We are very happy with the work that Carol does and feel confident and trusting to have her in our home.

She was great.  She really cleaned the kitchen floor. She was fast.  She used all of her own products.  Very pleasant.

Carol has been our house cleaner for the past 2+ years. She does a full house clean every two weeks. Her rates are very reasonable for our 3-bedroom, 2-bath 1500 square foot home. She covers all the basics: kitchen, bathrooms, floors. She is reliable and responsive and this is clearly her business- not a sideline or temporary occupation. Carol is personable and efficient and we are totally comfortable giving her access to our premises while we are away. It's lovely to come home on a day when she has been here.

The story begins when I realized that my wonderful mom needed help in cleaning her house. So, I went in search of a professional that we could trust and would care about doing a great job. We wanted and needed a true professional. After no success asking neighbors and friends for referrals, I turned to my most trusted resource - Angie's List.  This is where I discovered Carol and hoped she had an opening in her schedule to help my mom.

I honestly feel we are blessed to have found Carol. I only want what in the best for my loving mom. It is now my job to help her anyway I can and I am pleased to repay all the love, support and kindness my mom has shown me all my life. But, due to circumstances beyond my control, I must rely on others to help me, help her. Now that fate with the aid of Angie's List has brought Carol into our lives, I can rest easier knowing my mom will have one less chore to do and that her surroundings will be clean and tidy.
