Home Security System Service
We had been with a home alarm provider for nearly 10 years who provided terrible support service. In addition, our alarm system was old. Because we had contract issues with the previous provider, we did not want a service that demanded a 3-year contract, which is most on Angie's List. We also wanted on-site service should it be needed. Bright House Networks Home Security does not require a contract and, to our liking, does not charge for home repair calls. Most alarm companies on Angie's List do charge for in-house repair or urge the customer to purchase a service contract. Unlike many other alarm companies, Bright House does charge for installation (the basic fee is $200), but we decided that the investment was well worth it given no contract and no fee for home service. In addition, we received a discount for the monitoring service because our telephone & internet is bundled through Bright House. Finally, their service technicians, both the installation and repair staff, are Bright House employees and located in the Tampa area.
To make a long story short, the installation technician showed up on time, spent 4 hours on the installation, and patiently answered all of our questions. Unfortunately, the installation was not 100% well done, which then resulted in a series of 6 different technicians having to come over a 10-day period (some admitted that they didn't dare touch the necessary wiring because they were not trained in that way). For each call we made, frustrated as we were, Bright House immediately scheduled another technician. It was not until the "right" technician (Ryan) was scheduled (10 days after installation), that the problem was permanently fixed.
We now have a well running system that we are very pleased with. The ability to arm/disarm the system (or check it anywhere in the US) via cellphone, as well as with keypads, is great. Thus far, we highly recommend the Bright House service.

The internet service could be faster but they want me to pay more money for it to be fast enough. I've been with them for a long time. They could do better for the prices.

The internet and cable are a little sketchy, but the phone is good. It goes out a lot for no reason. They are responsive and provide quick service. They usually contact me to set stuff up, but it depends on who I get. I am going to switch.

Their service is excellent. If they tell us they are going to be here, they will give us a window for about two hours and they are always there within that time period. We can call them if we have a problem with our TV and they will walk us through it.
