Bill's services are always on time, on target, and keeps our lawn and beds looking immaculate. He always arrives when he should and is open and flexible to questions or tweaks. There are several services in our area where you have to wonder if you'll be on their schedule for the week. We never have to worry & know that he'll take care of his like family. If you want someone that you can trust, and know that you are in good hands, definitely give him a call.

Had a great experience with Bill at BladesAway on a total backyard makeover. I needed to have two tall, thick hedges removed, three stands of thick palm trees trimmed up and made to look nice, and a fairly thick tangle of wild trees either trimmed up or removed. Also just general maintenance in cutting down some fairly tall grass and clean-up. We estimated it would take about two days worth of work. Bill came in with all the equipment necessary, showed me a statement of work and made sure I was completely satisfied with the work after he was done. Great experience, I've already asked him to come back and help with the front yard, as well as a maintenance contract for keeping the house up and all the trees trimmed and looking nice.

Bill has worked for me almost 20 years and I have never had one problem. He has a very strong work ethic and is trustworthy and stands by his word. I trust him and highly recommend his business.

It was July 2016 and I called 7 Angie's List lawn maintenance contractors. Bill was only one of 2 lawn maintenance contractors to return my calls/emails and the only one who came out to assess my yard. Bill is very organized, is a good communicator on the contract terms and schedule, has a wealth of experience, has backup equipment for every piece of equipment he uses, has integrity - does what he says he will do when he says he will do it, invoices on a regular schedule, and is flexible to accommodate special requests. He and his wife work so hard and so fast. They are in and out shortly after we hear the mowers. They leave a note with the date of their next service date before they leave in the off-season (November thru April) so we know when to expect them. Bill and his wife are very friendly and check in with us to make sure we are satisfied. We would highly recommended them to others. He charges us $150.00/month on a 12 month contract.

Bill came by, quoted a fair price for all the work needed, got to work and finished the job to above and beyond my satisfaction. He weeded, trimmed the growth on the fences, cut back saplings, removed palmettos, sprayed where needed, raked leaves, edged, cut the grass and cleaned up/bagged debris. He is a meticulous lawn service machine! I am no longer that neighbor whose yard is the embarrassing eyesore of the block thanks to Bill.

I've used him for several years now and never a problem. He is reliable and does excellent work. I do not have a single complaint. He is also very responsive to inquiries and keeps you informed if weather, illness, or whatever is going to make him a bit late. I highly recommend this company.

We have used Blades Away for approximately five years.  Bill (owner) did an outstanding job in cutting, trimming, and edging our lawn.  His cleanup was so good that you never knew he was there.  All of our neighbors were very impressed with how well our lawn looked after Bill had finished.   Bill was very easy to work with and always offered suggestions on how we could take care of other plants in our lawn.  I highly recommend Blades Away.

I am very pleased with both the service and the professionalism and friendliness of Bill and his team. They are thorough and always leave my yard looking great. I highly recommend this service. 

Blades Away lawn services requires a contract signing that is 6 pages of small print. It covers just about any circumstances and resolves the company of any responsibility. I contracted with him even though his price was almost twice what my previous service had cost. I was hoping for carefree recurring lawn and flower bed service and was willing to pay for it.
Initially he did a fine job. After a while I had to remind him about weed control, then it was keeping the sprinkler heads clear and about trimming a flower plant that needed to be kept trimmed and not have it block the side gate. Each time it was excuses. It was going to rain so can't spray the weeds (he could have pulled them or used the weed whacker). I cleared the sprinkler heads of over grown grass and marked them with flags, so they could be easily found. The gate plant just grew too fast for him to keep up with (an excuse, not a reality...it spreads out, but over a period of months). He always arrived late afternoon (once almost 8 PM) and seemed always to be in a hurry.
Again he let the sprinkler heads become overgrown with grass, I bought new flags (at my expense) to remark the heads. I didn't clear then this time...he did.
Then in February 2016, he started mowing the grass every two weeks. It's a slow growing Seville and we were not getting any rain. The only reason to mow was to get in the required number of annual mowing (under the contract). This is when I knew it was time to change service company's. After confirming I had new service, I called Blades Away and terminated his service. He said he would mail me a final bill.
I received the final bill and he refused to refund me an over payment of $96 (my calculation is $144). He stated I failed to give him a 30 notice, which is in the contract. He stated I hired a cheaper service for the reason of termination. The cheaper service was definitely not a reason...as stated above he was twice the price of my previous service.
He stated that trimming around the grass sprinkler heads were not in the contract and should have been listed in special instructions (never heard or ran into such an exception before).
In any event he was also in breech of contract by not performing as described in the contract. Being as he was the reason for termination, I feel I should get my over payment back.

Bill does a great job with the lawn and an even better job with the shrubs and hedges - they look great!  He is easy to communicate with via text and has been completely dependable at showing up to complete the work.  Plan to continue to work with him and would recommend without reservation.

Bill has been doing our regular lawn maintenance for the past 5 months and always does a very professional and thorough job.  On his first visit, we walked around my property and went over in detail what all needed to be taken care of as well as locating any pipes, wires, etc. to ensure that he wouldn't be damaging them.  I would highly recommend his services.

I have been a customer - and, consider Bill a friend as well - since 2001 - and have a month-to-month contract for continuing lawn care.  There are no words to describe the on-going relationship I have experienced  with Blades Away and Bill Sims that could describe his work, and him, personally,  other than: "Superlative"  ("...something of the highest degree of excellence")! 
When my husband was no longer able to maintain our yard due to illness, I contacted Blades Away. He responded on the arranged afternoon promptly. He explained that he was the owner and the only person who would be doing the work and his qualifications. We  talked, and discussed our needs, and expectations, then he surveyed the yard...which is not a large lot...and we agreed that he would maintain the front only, since the backyard had hardly any grass due to large trees and also a deck.  The front yard has a low-growing hedge across the front, bordered by bedding plants, with a large pecan tree and other trees along the side yard.  Since we all agreed on what was needed, and his charges (which were surprisingly reasonable),  we asked him for regular maintaince and signed a contract for services..... Something we never regretted! 
He has always been prompt and faithful to his arranged schedule for monthly service, keeping us informed of his expected next visit, and our yard is maintained with the care we are no longer able to give it  ourself.  He also attends to keeping the front hedges well trimmed below widow level as requested by the security company,  picks up and bags all trimmings -   and leaves our lawn in pristine conditon.  His attention to the lawn and plantings is something I have appreciated, more than ever, since my husband's death in 2012.  Bill  always took time out from his work to visit with my husband on some of those service days - something my husband (who had Alzheimer's) looked forward to and enjoyed...and anticipated with a big smile! 
Bill is a very honest and dependable,  personable, friendly, and a caring person, as well as.... most importantly, a true professional! - detail oriented - all traits that all of us can appreciate when we are looking for someone to take over taking care of our lawns to improve the appearance of our homes. He always - always! - goes the "extra mile" in performing his sevices, and I, personally, will highly recommend Blades Away (and have!) to anyone in the need of lawn maintainance, whether a one-time sevice or on a regular maintaince basis.
