The crew looked good and the 50 year dimensional shingles look very nice. The main problem is that I have had several leaks over the last few years, with two ruining drywall and causing mold. When they are called for service after the installation, they are slow to respond and I had to call several times to get someone out. They did make some repairs on the roof and replace some drywall at no charge, but I still have two leaks. The last service person from the company said that my dormer was leaking so I paid for him to repair it. The leak continued and then he blamed my window. I've covered and sealed the window completely with heavy plastic and the leak continues so its not the window. I believe that the chimney flashing was not installed properly from he very beginning as there are leaks on both sides of the chimney. So I'm left with two leaks after paying $17,500 for a new roof. I don't think they are a bad company or don't have roofing knowledge, just that they put on a new roof and I have had leaks since they did so, and even with several service calls they have not been able to diagnose and repair them.

I hired a new roofer lots of water damage. They had to put over 7 sheets of plywood down. I even filed a complaint with professional regulations in Tallahassee who deal with license and contracts

Went better than expected, the work was scheduled for Feb. 1st. they had a cancellation and called and said they could move it up 2 weeks. Very professional job was done and excellent clean up. This company has a excellent office staff and kept me up to date through out the process, took 2 days and the new roof is excellent. Only took a day for someone to come out and give us a estimate. Would use this company any time.

About two weeks after Shields replaced our entire roof, we
had a leak at the chimney flashing. It took several calls to arrange for
someone to come and assess the situation. We were told several times that the
workmanship was not the problem and that ?the leak is coming from somewhere
else?. Two attempts to repair or patch their installation resulted in the leak
worsening. After no resolution, we hired an independent inspection of the roof
for an impartial finding. The inspection revealed that the flashing was indeed
installed incorrectly, and that the overall poor workmanship was the source of
the leak. No comment from anyone at Shields after forwarding them the
inspection results. We had no confidence in their ability to correct the
problem, and had to pay an additional $1,100 for someone else to fix the
leaking area that Shields left behind. Phone messages to the owner for
resolution were not returned. We had many other issues in addition to the leak. Just
about everything that Shields said that they would do, or how they do their
work turned out to be the opposite. This was a very disappointing experience.

I paid $9200 for top grade shingle, new flashing, new dripage, and installing the roof. They are really really good, and I think they are the best roofing company in Tampa. Everybody I talked to before I was having the roof done, said that I should call them. They are also highly rated on Angie's List. One of my neighbor is really fussy, and they did his roof, and he was happy, and so I called them. I am detail oriented, and the crew that came to remove my old roof, was very careful about the way they treated my house, and they put tarps down, all around the house. I was really surprised that they could get the old roof off, without getting a big mess. My yard was cleaner when they left, then when they arrived. That was my biggest concern. They sent out a crew of about 10, and they had all the tools. They did a very professional job, and it was really well done. I am very happy with their work and with the new roof. The city inspector came out this morning, and he said the roof was well done. I watched them do the job, and I think they are very careful. They don't cut any corners. I was real happy with their pricing. I think other companies would have cost me even more. The people I spoke to said that Shields was either the lowest or at the low end. I could have had the roof done at $7100, but I wanted an upgraded shingle, and I wanted a water proof membrane. They told me that I would have to wait 4-6 weeks, and he told me that they are very busy and are always booked up. My roof was not leaking, it was just an older roof. It was still intact, and it just needed replaced. I was forewarned that it would take 4 weeks. They do an awful lot of work, and you have to wait for them to get to you. They explained very clearly upfront what the deal was, and they keep in touch. They were right on time. They were always here when they said they would be here. They were here first thing in the morning.

They did a really good job. Unfortunately the only down side was that I requested estimates in June 2013, didn't get a response until Dec. 2013 and they didn't do the work until March even though I informed them in late Dec. that I wanted them to do it .As a result my home insurance was cancelled. The main reason I got the roof done was to maintain insurance. I am still attempting to find home insurance.

They did a fantastic job, and I would recommend them to others.

Bill Sheilds roofing provided me my first quote on repairing a leak on my roof. After many quotes and some new discoveries we decided to replace our entire roof and not just the area having the leak. Bill Sheilds gave us a very competitive quote to replace our tile roof. We did have clay tiles but decided to go with a concrete tile instead. Every crew that came to me residence was very professional and courteous. One crew takes the old roof off, replaces any bad wood and installs the tile underlayment. Another crew installs the flashing, tile and vents. I would recommend Bill Shields to anyone needing to replace a roof especially tile.

We began requesting estimates for new roof in approx. June and decided on Bill Shields based on reputation, reviews, and price quoted. The installation was delayed for months based on rainy weather. They offered to temporarily patch the roof without charge in the meantime but it was not needed. When they were finally caught up with other delayed work and the weather cleared of rain we were able to set a date to begin. The crew that removed the old roof were friendly and efficient and tried not to damage plants around the house in the process of removal. When the installation crew arrived they were on time and worked quickly. They were pleasant and professional. I believe they did a quality job in their installation. My only negative comment would be on one of the office staff. Her phone manner could sometimes be abrasive, but I would advise to overlook this and I would recommend them to anyone needing roofing.

Dave came out promptly and gave me an estimate. They were able to work me into their schedule just a few days later. His men called before they came and showed up within a short time. They sat in front of my house for awhile before they came up to the door. A little strange. However, once they came in, they got right to work and completed the repairs in a hour. They were courteous and professional. The best part was they showed me the work and explained what had been done. I really appreciated that, because then I feel that I know the job was done properly.

All staff I dealt with were prompt and friendly and seemed to be thorough and efficient. Mine was not a complete roofing job but I feel satisfied and would use them again.

The entire team was very professional, cleaned up everything and stayed with the exact price of the estimate. The work was complete on time and they were very responsive to phone calls and emails. I would recommend them without reservation.

Men were very professional and cleaned up all messes by placing old roofing etc. into a dumpster. Since it is only a few months since the job, it would be hard to ascertain if the roof holds up to its guarantee. There is only a five year warranty, which seems to be the standard with all roofers nowadays. It used to be 10 years a few years ago.

I have used them a couple of times before. I went with them because I've heard of them all my life. They've been in business for a long time and I believe that someone who is business for that long should be pretty good. I'm not really sure whether it's the roof that I have or the type that I have is any good for any length of time for the warranty. I am just unhappy that it seems to only be for five years before they have to put another one. I think I am going to try to find another outfit to do my roofing next time. It went bad just before the 5 year warranty was ran off but I won't be able to get any claim done. It is a built up roof. It seems to me that they really know what they doing and they are really prompt about doing it. They have a lot of business. They got here as soon as they were able to. I might use them in the future but I'm going to check with some other people because I just don't see that 5 years is a good warranty, we spend $5000 on something.

I reached out to Bill Shields Roofing last November to put on a new roof for both our home and our business. Bill Shields was both very punctual and communicated very well. Bill Shields was able to match another quote that we got from another company which was what ended up making us choose him. I would use Bill Shields Roofing again in the future.

Bill Shields hired via my insurance company's recommend restoration contractor. They were timely/quick on the estimate and promptly scheduled repair. Repair crew arrived on time and completed repair satisfactorly. Crew was professional and cleaned up after themselves.

Anytime I have needed their service I had to chase them after the 'front line' receptionist takes a message. It is unprofessional to put in a call and in 2or 3 days hear nothing back and when I actually get to the one who 'schedules', she acts as though she never got a message...no apology...3 times I've experienced this and I am by my phone all the time and they have prior experience with me. To this day I do not know for certain if the last job was actually performed and have yet to receive a bill! So..the office staff seems dysfunctional, but their trades people seem OK.

The first time we used them was in 1983 and we can speak highly of them. They are very reliable and the work came in on time. They cleaned up and I didn't have any more leaks. They did the work as they were supposed to. They have been in business for a long time and I continue to use them.

They were very pleasant and straight forward. They showed up in a timely fashion and even gave a follow up call.
