Bast provided the most expensive quote for repairing, replacing, and refinishing the original oak hardwood floors in my 1950's home. Nonetheless I chose Bast because I had heard from people that Bast is the best in the hardwood flooring business; although none of those people had actually used Bast Floors, that was what they had heard from others as well. The contract I had with Bast did not mention any concerns that would lead me to expect anything less than beautifully refinished floors when the work was done; and given the reputation I believed Bast to have for quality work, I trusted that assessment. When the first person came to begin the work of replacing damaged and missing wood, he noted areas of darker color in the living room and pointed that out to me. I don't refinish wood floors and nothing of these discolorations was discussed with me in the upfront walk through and quoting process so I thought nothing of it, and he apparently did not alert anyone at Bast of his concern about this. After he completed the wood repairs, there was approximately a month of wait time that the new wood had to acclimate to the house and humidity before the refinishing work could begin. After that waiting time, the next person came to do the sanding followed by the actual refinishing. When he finished sanding the discolored areas the first technician had pointed out to me, he told me that the discolorations were from pet urine and would not come out in the sanding process. His only recommendation was to stain all the floors a coffee color and then refinish. I did not want the darker floor color and told him that. He reassured me that although the discolored areas would be visible, they would not be that bad after the floors were finished. The next day as he was continuing the sanding process, I asked him about replacing the discolored wood with new wood -- the first technician had left a substantial stack of new wood in the house for use by this technician If additional areas of repair were identified in the sanding process. His comment to me was "You should have asked about that a day ago." I was rather shocked at such a comment when I had to come up with the suggestion rather than someone from Bast identifying that to me as an option. Again, the technician apparently did not contact anyone at Bast to discuss this issue and continued the course to get the job completed and move on to his next job. After the finish was completed, these discolored areas were glaring and a huge detraction as they are all in the living room which is the first room you enter in the house and the largest spot is directly in the path from the front door into the home and the first thing you notice -- see the attached pictures that show the many discolored areas within this one room. I called Bast myself to speak with them about my dissatisfaction with the end result; and an appointment was scheduled for the salesperson, Chris, who had done the original walk through and quote to come look at the floors. Chris basically could not explain why he had not seen any of these areas during his walk through, expressed regret that no one had reached out to him at any time previously, and noted that with their volume of work their project supervisor does not always get to every job to inspect it while the work is in progress. The ultimate resolutions offered were: take $200 off the contract price and quote an additional $1133.00 and a minimum of 3 more weeks to replace the discolored wood, allow it to acclimate, and refinish it. Ultimately an increase of more than 30% of the original quote and double the time due to staffing issues and a complete lack of communication within Bast's organization. I did not opt for Bast to repair their mistakes at my expense and will instead use another company. I have since found an area where one of the finishing technician's long hairs is in the finish -- in an area that will not be covered by a rug or furniture. I'm sure I could look and find other flaws but quite frankly I am sickened by this fiasco. I implore anyone considering such an expensive and important undertaking to look at other contractors because in the end when the job is done poorly and your home's value is negatively impacted as a result, Bast will not do the right thing and remedy the job which should be satisfaction guaranteed. Instead they will quote you for additional work (and time) to correct problems they should have identified and addressed in their contracted price for the project.

Bast Floors did an excellent job on our floors. Thanks to Chris for his estimate, Antonios for his prep work, Kevin for refinishing the floors, and Tom for his supervision. The floors look beautiful.

They were good. We just had to have the floors redone, and they had to come back and redo them, so they would have done it correctly the first time. We had to move out of our house twice.

Bast Floors' crew arrived on time with a let's get it done approach. The crew leader and sales rep discussed our options and made certain we understood any possible issues that could arise and they knew what our preferences for resolving them would be before they started. The installation took about a week and  they cleaned up the work area each evening.
We first used Bast Floors about twenty five years ago when we had oak flooring installed in the main rooms of our home, and again about seven years ago when we remodeled a bedroom. We always get competing estimates but, their professionalism and superior results has meant that they have always been our final choice.

It went very well. We were very pleased with the result. They did a very good job of explaining what they were going to do and the people that did the work were very thorough and very professional. We ended up with the job that we really like a lot. They showed up on time. Even though they they put up plastic fits and covered up the doorway; the area that was not being done there was a slight amount of fine dust that remained after they were gone on the wall. I guess their  machine should have filtered it out j't a big problem ust a little bit. It wasn't a big problem but it did leave a little dust behind.

They charged an hourly rate and the crew of two worked for two days. Chris Newcome was very professional, he came out to give us the estimate and walked us through the project. Chris gave us less expensive options that would also work in a way to preserve the original hardwood floors. When the work was being done he came out to check how the service was.

This is the third time I have used BAST to install hardwood floors.  Once again I was impressed by their honesty and professionalism.  First of all, they helped me to find hardwood to match the other floors in my house since the brand I had used before was not available anymore.  Then when it was time for installation they did a moisture test in both rooms.  The moisture in one room was to high so they would not lay the floor until it reached a certain range.  I was so impressed.  They could have just laid the floor and been done, but instead they came out several more times at no additional charge to do more moisture tests and even told me how to get rid of the moisture.  The gentlemen that laid the floors were wonderful.  They took care of moving the furniture, even my piano.  The floors were installed in a timely fashion and they cleaned up each day before they left.  I never even had to vacuum!  If I decide to install more hardwood floors or need repair for the ones I have, I will always use BAST.

Bast was the highest bid of three bids that we received from reputable flooring companies.  We selected Bast because of the demonstrated knowledge and approach to the job that was communicated by Chris Newcom, their sales representative.  He also gave us a good understanding of the process and our responsibilities.
The office staff communication and coordination was outstanding through the entire repair and re-finish process, which took about six weeks.
The refinishing team, led by Rob and Dave, was extremely professional and attentive to detail.   After sanding commenced, the team worked 7 days a week to minimize the time that we had to vacate our home.  The final result is a beautiful floor that should last for many years.
We strongly recommend Bast for any wood flooring replacement or installation.  Their work was phenomenal!

When our carpet was in need of being replaced, we decided that we wanted wood flooring.  We visited Bast Floor's showroom which has a very large selection.  Within a day or two, Bast came out to our condo to measure and give us an estimate.  The install went very smoothly.  Our installer, Greg, was meticulous in his work, respectful of our home and cleaned up every day.  We had to install in two stages as we had company arriving from out of town.  Bast was very accommodating with our schedule.
We love our wood floors.  Bast Floors more than exceeded our expectation with workmanship and quality.  I can truly recommend this company without reservation.

Matt did the estimate- came out almost to the board-perfect, no leftover material.
John built/stained the new stairs.  He is a perfectionist- he torn out all the old treads and risers down to the stringer. Then he started placing ones he had made in his shop.  It took  him two days. They look great.
For the next step I selected 3/4" pre-finished hardwood.(The floor put in upstairs.) The workmanship is great. It took a day to get the cuts around a 4 X 8 ft fireplace. then things went fast. All the furniture was placed back. They applied felt to all the furniture surfaces to protect the floor.  It took two days for a hallway, two closets a 22' loft and large bedroom. All the doors were removed, cut to clear the new height.  Get earplugs! The compressors and hammering for 4 days is noisy.  I wish I could include a picture. I am so happy to get rid of the carpet.

Went great - long proces but i knew what to expect so no surprises- real wood floor repairs take time if you want it done correctly. I have used Bast previously and asked the company paying for the repairs to use bast versus their company, which they did.

Chris and Jason were professional and terrific to deal with.  They held true to their estimate, both on price and timeline.  We had a tight timeline and muliple other workers inside the house at the same time.  They were able to work around everyone and finish with better than expected results!  They even made suggestions that decreased the total price and refuded us the balance.  The floors look beautiful and totally transformed our new home!

I liked them.  They actually turned out to be the best priced and they were extremely efficient and clean.  They were here when they said they’d be here and they did a great job.  They were very professional even though he was young and I was a little concerned about it, but he turned out to be terrific.  It took them two days and even when they left for one day I just told them to let everything be but they didn’t; they cleaned it up right before they left.  Everything is holding up wonderfully; they did a fantastic job on it.  I would use them again in the future if needed, and I would highly recommend them to others.

We had three companies come and give us quotes and we used the guy that worked on the home before.  They weren't necessarily cheaper than the others but they had experience working on our home and we felt more comfortable having them do the installation.  We would use them again if we had to.

The new wood was adjacent to the wood that was installed years ago. There was an obvious difference in the coloration because the old wood had faded. We had the floor sanded and refinished. The quality of their work and the quality of the material they use makes the difference. They are quite professional. This was the third time that we used them, and each time we have been satisfied. They are easy to work with. They are not the least expensive. They are definitely on my list of companies to contact for future work.

Due to our indecision we worked with Bast over a period of 8 months. The entire team at Bast was extremely patient and supportive of us as we tried to narrow down choices of wood. They were more than willing to order in samples and allowed us to view them in our home to see how well it would work. Matt Johnson educated us on the different types of wood and came to the house to take measurements. Stacey & Michelle helped us by sending information and scheduling appointments. The installation team was very impressive. The entire house was installed in 2 days. The crew was very professional and experienced in their work. They made sure we were satisfied with the look of the wood as they progressed and were very neat in their work. They did a fantastic job matching the wood to the tile without the need of transitions. They had no problem when I went into a room they had finished and I did not like the color of one of the boards and asked to replace it. They were able to remove it and replace it without any problems.

They were absolutely excellent. They installed flooring in our house and did a very professional job. They could not do the installation because we were showing that we had moisture in our floor. It turned out that when we had our pool put in 1979 and they did not cap the sprinkler system correctly, so for years and years when we put the sprinkler system on the water was coming into our foundation. We had to make sure that it was done correctly. They did a fabulous job and I would recommend them. We spent about $10,000 on that work and the price seemed to be right at the time. They were not the least expensive, but were the best qualified.
