Despite having the worlds worst weather this week, I came home from a doctors appointment and found the crew working on the roof because they wanted to make sure that I didn't have any more leaks and damage into attic.  They showed up every morning at 8 and did a GREAT job.
I am VERY happy with their work and will be using them for the other damage the tree caused inside the house.

Positive .....I contacted a number of contractors to resolve the problem and got bids from $4,000 to $50,000.  All of the contractors (with the exception of one who wasn't going to get a permit) told me I would have to get engineering drawings to perform the work at a price of approx $1000. Sergio proactively had a draftsman put together drawings at a cost of $125 and said he would attempt to obtain a permit without the engineer which he was able to do.
The crew working on the project was very professional and friendly. The work proceeded at a good pace. They ran into an unexpected problem with a missing header (i believe that's the name) that they had to install to support the balcony. This increased the cost of the original bid but I had no problem with that and the price was reasonable.

Negative ...... I had to point out a couple of areas that needed to be resolved such as a support in the wall of the upstairs balcony and some loose boards on the outside of the house. They had no problem addressing these issues. A couple of items were damaged such as a screen on the upstairs balcony and a front porch light. These items were never mentioned by B.A. A pile of building material was left on the side of the house which I had to dispose of.

Summary .... The positive aspects of B.A. Construction far outweighed the negative.  I would definitely use this company again and would not hesitate to recomend them. I feel fortunate to have found B.A construction. They performed the necessary work at a very fair price.

They were wonderful and fantastic people. After it was all over, we then realized that the work was rather mediocre. They weren?t as good as I thought they were. I started seeing flaws and finding problems. It wasn?t bad, but they could have done a little bit better. They worked really hard. I had a bump in a wall that wasn?t there before. I think what happened was that when they rebuilt one of the rooms, they bumped into the drywall. So there were little things like that. It isn?t something that I can?t fix myself. I don?t know who their tile guy was, but he really didn?t do a good job. The price was all through my insurance. I had to pay a little bit, which was for the tile work. The floors were fine. I bought the tile for the backsplash and they installed it. I had to pay a little extra for that. These are glass tiles. They were little flat pieces of glass. My experience with them was really pretty good. They were very patient with me and I was very patient with them. They took a little longer than they probably should have, but it was fine considering the amount of work that was involved. They always showed up on time or early. They used to get right to work and they never left for lunch. They always had their lunch here. I was watching them all the time while they were working since I was trying to document it for my insurance. I was taking pictures all the time. I felt that the price I paid for the tile work was a bit expensive, but was not bad. I don?t know that much about glass tiles and I don?t know how much it?s supposed to cost. Overall, they did a really nice job. I liked them a lot. I would use their services again.
Response from

"First off, there were a lot of unforseens at this house that we fixed for no extra cost to the customer. the tile work was done by one of our top guys and if the walls are not in good shape to begin with that we can not help. if there was a bump in the wall i would have seen it and fixed it, if we did it. we pay attention to detail and everyone is entitled to there own opinoin, but i know that the crew that we have is very good at what they do. The price for the tile was a cheep price for what it was. We do the best that we can do given the situation."

Sergio and his crew arrived on time. They emptied the shed, removed the shelves along with their contents. They connected the shed to the house, insulated it and installed sheetrock. They wired the shed, installed two light fixtures and three outlets. They reinstalled the shelves and carried most of the stored items back into the shed. Concerning the shed itself, I could not have been happier with their work. xxx The work they did inside the house, however, left a good bit to be desired: Sergio and I had discussed by email the fact that I wanted the closet removed completely from one of the rooms rather than simply installing the door that would connect the two rooms into the back of the closet. He agreed to the plan and it was included in the estimate. When they came to do the that portion of the work, he expressed surprise that I wanted the closet wall removed. In the heat of the moment, I forgot the email [which I had kept] that would have shown that he had already agreed to this plan. I agreed to pay more for the extra work of removing the wall. Originally, I had requested that he build another closet in the room. As the work progressed, I decided not to include that closet at this time. Sergio agreed to remove the wall for an extra $100 over and above the price I would have paid to build the other closet. As a result, I ended up paying more money for less work than he had originally agreed to do. The crew had cut small holes in two walls in order to assess what needed to be done. They had agreed to patch the holes before completion. The "patches" consisted of thin pieces of cardboard screwed in place over the holes. Perhaps I should have been more explicit -- but I expected that they would remove the thin plastic/cardboard composite that had been inside the closet and replace it with sheetrock so the walls of the room in which the closet was removed would be consistent throughout the room. They did not do that. When they replaced a closet rod in the other bedroom's closet, they did so in a make-do-and-mend fashion. It seemed to me that, as they neared completion, they became impatient and began hurrying to move on to their next job. I have, since they left, hired another man to complete the jobs they left half done.

Sergio and Tom did it all. They are master craftsmen and pleasant gentlemen. Their skills and can-do attitude are superior to anything I would have hoped for. I cannot believe that this type of service still exists in our changing world and times. If you do not check these guys out, you are hurting yourselves.

Sergio gave us a great estimate on the work. He was always on time, and cleaned up after himself. He took extra care with the work he was doing in my home. We had a very uneven kitchen floor, and he would take extra time and effort to ensure each tile was properly laid so they wouldn't be uneven. The work was all excellent, and Sergio is very professional. I have also used Sergio to do some remodel work in a bathroom, and to install a new front door which required cutting the concrete block to widen the opening. Not only would I use him again, I recommend him to everyone I know!
