Autobahn Import Service

I have had two cars serviced at Autobahn for years and have no complaints. They are one of those rare places that don't try to upsell you. Try to find that in a luxury car mechanic shop. They are not conveniently located for me, but if I had to, I'd take off of work to get my car serviced here.

Whole experience was excellent and professional. Dave explained technical matters in easily understood layman terminology. The 1999 Audi requires a special tool to set the timing belt and most mechanics don't have it. Dave specializes in Audis and can handle all aspects.

A week or so before contacting Dave, I had the front end suspension replaced by my regular mechanic. Afterwards there was a noticiable vibration, especially at idle. I was told by my mechanic that the engine mounts needed to be replaced. He explained that the new suspension had elevated the motor off the frame such that the engine mounts come into play and were worn out.

I asked Dave to look into while the car was with him for timing belt replacement. Dave was happy to evaluate and provided writtenfeedback for me to share with my mechanic. I really appreciate the extra effort Dave made.

I called and spoke to Dave about inspecting a Toyota Sienna which I wanted to purchase from a private seller. He patiently explained what he would be doing, and that he would be doing it on my behalf as opposed to on behalf of the seller. He was able to schedule me for the same day. When we arrived there, he truly did take his time to go over every inch of the minivan, and came back with a handwritten list of everything he noticed, the good the bad and everything in between.
When it came to pay, I was surprised when he told me that he made a mistake in quoting me $90 for the inspection. That is what he charges to inspect other vehicles (Audi, BMW etc), and for the Toyota it is only $45.
I would recommend his services to anyone, especially if you need a pre-purchase inspection.

I've found the staff to be very professional and courteous. When I come into the shop with a list of items to look at based upon the manufactures service timeliness, they've been very helpful in identifying what needs to be done, and what can wait for another time. While out of town on business, they have taken care of my wife's automotive repair "emergencies" with ease and have not taken advantage of the situation. The whole staff has been great, but I recommend speaking with mechanic Dave/David. One of the mechanics raises bees, so the shop sells honey, which is also very good.
