When we entered the store we had no real intention or idea to purchase at this time but the staff were quick to greet us and we were shown a "listening room" area that was set up well to display and test the variety of head units and decent selection of speakers they had. Dean and one other staff member worked with us to help us narrow down what head-units offered the features we were interested in and helped us narrow the choices to two possibilities...they did not push us one way or the other but instead offered the pro's and con's of each. Dean also worked with us in the same manner on the various speaker options and let us decide which sounded best to us and at the end of this process we were provided an estimate that, with a quick check online, showed they were on-par with pricing for a popular online car audio retailer.
We were a walk-in customer and I had a tight schedule so wasn't sure they would be able to fit me in but I asked and they were able to do the installation. I dropped off the truck close to when they closed on Friday afternoon and called for a status update early Saturday afternoon, only to be told the vehicle was ready. We went up to the store to inspect the installation and see how things turned out...and were not disappointed! While the invoice was being prepared for payment, one of the staff members sat in my vehicle with me to (a) verify functionality of everything that was installed and (b) showing me how to access, find and adjust the various settings within the menus on the head unit. While paying the invoice, we were told and shown what was causing the poor sound from the factory speakers, we were given all the old components that were removed and the warranty they offer on their services was explained. There was not a scratch on the dash panels, the wiring was all professionally done, and wow, did the stereo sound and look great.
I was very impressed with the overall experience, professionalism of the staff that I interacted with, and helping us find the products that met our needs without feeling like we were being "up sold" anything. I've had wireless backup cameras in the past that were not reliable but the camera that we had installed to assist with hitching the boat trailer (and getting a better viewpoint of what obstacles might lurk in blind spots while in reverse) turns on every time the truck is in reverse and has provided a pretty decent picture (a lot of rain and still getting used to the camera being there).
All said, we were impressed with everything about the shop, staff, and the job that was done with competitive pricing so we will use Audio Itch for future needs and will tell friends and family about this business. I'm not one to take the time to write reviews but in this case, I felt compelled to provide feedback about our overall experience in hopes it helps others. Nothing about the experience was negative for us.
A few months later I decided to upgrade my stereo. I went to a different stereo/tint install place closer to my home. They checked out the amp and sub install and pointed out some flaws. The amp was mounted to the steel frame, metal on metal, which I was told was not a good method as the amp could not dissipate heat very well and would likely die an early death. A better way would be to mount to the back of one of rear seats (which they did for me). Secondly, Audio Itch seemed to take short cuts on the quality, such as using dry wall screws to mount the amp and secure the sub with a bracket. Just poor quality, according to the second installer. I didn't know any better but it appeared to add up once I looked at the work Audio Itch did for me.
"Member, thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention. We always strive for the best customer service possible, therefore I am very sorry that your found it to be a regrettable part of your experience. As for eating at the cashier counter, we are a busy retail location, and sometimes it becomes unavoidable for the salesman to leave for lunch so they eat on the fly, it's a necessary evil of the retail business, most customers don't find it unpleasant, I'm sorry you found that to be offensive. As for the stains on the vehicle, the tint is applied with baby soap and water, the stains are most likely soap streaks that are difficult to wipe down. We cannot wipe down the windows because the tint needs to set for 3 days for drying purposes, the tinters try to get the soap residue off the vehicles, unfortunately if you wipe a car with dirt on it, you can scratch the paint from rubbing the dirt into the paint, so we just leave it. Again, most customers find this to be an acceptable practice, I'm sure you wouldn't want to come back to your luxury vehicle to find swirl marks in the paint, we'd much rather have the soap residue which will wash off easily. We offer a full lifetime warranty through the manufacturer, should you have an issue with the tint we would love the opportunity to correct it. I hope that I have addressed all your concerns and you will consider giving The Audio Itch another try, I promise to give you the very best customer service possible with our eye on attention to detail so you leave feeling good about using our services."
