There is a certain slope below which you cannot tile a roof. Our contract clearly called for that to be done. They went ahead and built the extension and without telling me it turned out to be less than the agreed upon slope so when I had the entire roof reshingled, the roofing company could not shingle that section because it did not meet specs. They never discussed this with me. For whatever reason he decided they were not going to do that extension to that slope. Rob, the owner, had a tendency to bring in subcontractors that were not the best. When he finished the extension, it had to be stuccoed to match the rest of the building. The stucco started cracking almost immediately. I called and they said that was something they could fix later. I called in a home inspector, which I paid for, to look at the stucco and as a result of his report, the stucco had been applied improperly. They had to redo the entire stucco. They also damaged a couple of expensive windows that had been put in the extension. I contacted him several times about this and he kept saying he would come and look at it. It still hasn't been resolved and it has been 2 years. I am not really happy and I would not let him do anything else at my house. There were 3 or 4 of his subcontractors where we needed to have the work redone or modified after they were done and that became a pain. Had the work been done right the first time, the price would have been okay and fair.
Description of Work: I used Artisan Designer Homes to renovate a master bedroom and master bathroom. They also added a 500 square foot extension to the house. Part of the job was to change a flat roof extension from our existing roof that went out over the pool deck and make it at least a 3 to 1 slope. It was to be a sloped roof extension so that it could be tiled.
