Team of 5 or 6 guys was on time, with various trucks and equipment. A massive crane was placed in my driveway, and was used to bring massive pieces of the tree from the backyard to the front yard, where it was put through a chipper. These guys were doing some seriously dangerous work, whether hanging from the crane, or the tree dozens of feet high. It was quite impressive. They did an excellent job given the size of the tree and little room they had to make the cuts and maneuver the pieces out of the backyard. They cleaned up the area and left little to no evidence in the street, driveway, and yard. The stump was then grinned with a machine, though I have no idea if the went the full length below grade given the mound of mulch that's left over. Overall, the team was punctual, professional, and very clean and organized. The price was cheaper than 5 other quotes I received, from $1k to $2k cheaper. They were also one of the only companies willing to put the crane in my driveway as most others insisted on using the neighbors driveway due to the proximity of the tree. Given the price and final outcome, I'm happy with the work and would use them again. Now for the minor hic-up... During the removal, they lost control of a piece of the trunk on the crane, and accidentally broke 3 window panes of a French Door. The reason I consider this minor is that you have to appreciate the size and complexity of the work they were performing, and the possibility that a 500 lb piece of trunk would fall trough my roof or a worker would fall off the tree. A few pieces of broken glass was really no big deal. My one complaint was that it took almost 2 weeks for them to fix the door given some delays with ordering the glass. In hind-site, I should have just fixed the door myself and billed them for it. At the end of it all, the door was fixed and we were in constant communication during that time. I'd definitely choose Christine's team again, including JD the foreman.

The crew was very efficient and professional.  A section of an old chain link fence was damaged and they weren't satisfied until they were able to repair it. I was amazed that they were able to complete the job with just that minor mishap. I should have checked the yard with the foreman when the job was completed because it turned out later that there were areas that needed more work to reduce the roots to below grade which was the  agreement per the contract.  With the amount of grinding that was done, some of the roots were covered with dirt and "mulch" which was understandable.  It was very difficult to get them back out to remove the remaining roots and two trips were required because they didn't check the yard after their first return trip.  This was my second time using this company and I  will definitely use them again but I will be more careful about checking the job before they leave next time.

The company representative, Johathan, was very professional and helpful in making suggestions for the work to be done and his estimated price was right on target.  They showed up right on schedule to do the job even though it was a rainy day.  The foreman "JD" did a great job supervising his knowlegeable and friendly crew, and they all did a great job of working together.  They returned another day to complete some necessary cleanup and my property now looks like a well groomed park.

I was referred to Arbor Bay Tree Service by Kim Levell (www.exteriordecorating.com), the premiere Exterior Decorating company in Tampa. She uses Arbor Bay exclusively for her clients, and her work is second to none, so I was confident Arbor Bay knew what they were doing. I live in Seffner, far outside Arbor Bay's typical business area. I quickly received an "eyes on" estimate from Johnathan and confirmed the job. This was no ordinary work - I had a HUGE Laurel Oak only five feet away from the house that covered 2/3 of my 1/4 acre lot, and the tree was dropping branches every time it rained. We were literally in fear of the house every time we had wet weather. The tree had a 48" diameter trunk and was estimated over 100 years old - well past its lifetime. The team arrived exactly on time as promised, and put in a 12-hour day taking it down. I took the day off just to watch them work. These guys were simply amazing, and worked tirelessly all day in synchronized perfection. They all watched each other's backs all day, doing work that literally had their lives on the line. I watched in awe as they "flew" tons of wood with a crane, with their "cutter" wielding a chainsaw with one hand and directing the crane operator and "strap man" where to lash up the branches. It was simply incredible on-the-fly engineering like I had never seen. Arbor Bay's six-man team were total professionals. They were polite, courteous, safe, and took the time to tell me what they were doing the whole time. They even took the time to cut a "slab" from the trunk for me so I could make a table. Not once did they complain about the long drive, the hot sun, or the huge job they were faced with. I knew I got a good referral from Kim, but they exceeded every expectation. The guys from Arbor Bay were a real pleasure to watch and a great bunch of guys to get to know. From talking to them, I found out they had more than 50 years of tree service experience between them. I won't ask anyone other than Arbor Bay to take care of my future needs. Michael Marciniak runs a fantastic operation, and his foreman JD is the best in the business.

The estimate was fair and they arrived as scheduled and performed work in one day as promised. A few weeks later I noticed that my grass was turning brown. Upon inspection, I discovered that in removing the shrubs, they had cut through my sprinkler system main line and landscape lighting wires. They aslo left stumps and roots in the ground. Although I called, the response was neither timely nor enthusiastic. The sprinkler system was full of mud and 2 pvc lines were crushed. I had to spend $175 for repairs to the system. I was so disappointed because I really liked Mike when he came out for the estimate. I told him that I was also interested in landscaping and some fencing, so I could have been a profitable customer for them. The follow-up was so poor that regrettably, I would not use them again.

They did the work pretty quickly. They were doing some work on my neighbor’s house, so I spoke over the phone with them, and they came down and did the work the same day. I would use them again in the future if necessary.
