Henry Richardson obviously does not do many roofs. And I'm sure he did not have any employees of his own perform our roof replacement. After our roof was completed he attempted to charge an extra 20% over what was on the contract. And that was besides the wood replacement. He also was very unprofessional and attempted to blame my spouse for his lack of experience with roofing. Besides the crazy idea that you can charge much more than what is cleerly covered in the contract after the fact, the roof was not done very well. They either didn't use the correct size plywood or cut it incorrectly to match up, as there are multiple high spots that are easily visible from the ground. There is a small flat roof which myself and Mr. Richardson both got on prior to signing the contract and he almost went through it. I got on that same roof after and it is still dangerous. Finally, there were shortcuts on even the cheapest part-the drip edge. Apparently they didn't have enough of the one size with them so instead of buying more they decided to just cut 2 different sizes at an angle in the middle of the front of the house and hope no one noticed. Seriously? One word-RUN!

The installation of the casings was of acceptable quality but the paint and finish work was awful. Caulking was slathered with no particular regard for application over nail holes, (some of which were never filled), and seams. Even the door striker plates were painted over! Moreover, walls were not "touched-up", and few painted lines, if any, were straight. After several emails describing the poor workmanship and lack of attention to detail did the owner, Henry Richardson, offer to inspect the work. He admitted that while I paid for a professional painter, he utilized the services of a gentleman he found through the "skilled labor pool" due to professional painter's unwillingness to travel to Tampa. Only after inspecting the poor work did he assign his painter. Many of the door casings were so poorly done they had to be replaced. This, too, created an issue as the installer did not want to replace the casings. He felt that the caulking could be scraped off yet Mr. Richardson had already agreed that nearly all required replacement as repair would not be time nor cost-effective. While the work was eventually rectified, it took several emails and phone calls spread over several weeks. In all, Abode, LLC treated my job as an annoyance or "fill work" for his crew with little initial regard for the quality. Apparently, Abode, LLC. builds custom homes and commercial buildings. If this work is in any way indicative of his overall work, I would not hire them to build a dog house, let alone a $500,000 home! (I, do, however, wish to thank Mr. Richardson for his consultation on the sub-floor bids I received.)
