First called them on a Thursday, gave all information and was told someone would call back that day. No call. When I mentioned to the person who referred them, he called them and told them to call me back. Then I received two text messages and a phone call, with apology. So far I was OK with them, this was on a Tuesday. We agreed to have the work done the next day, Wednesday, after noon sometime. Was told someone would call me to confirm time. Later that day received a text to reschedule to Friday. I was OK with that too. On Friday morning, received a call that they wanted to come then (about 9:30). I was out at the time, and said I thought we were doing in the afternoon. They "guessed they got the time screwed up", but I agreed to meet them at 9:45 or so.
The electrician arrived at 10:00, and thought we were doing something in the lanai, but he didn't know what. When I explained what I wanted, he wanted to punch a wall through the house (outside wall), as he said there was no way he could drop a line down from the attic. I didn't want a conduit pipe on the outside of my house. Then he wanted to put in on another wall, which would have required running a cord from the sunscreen across the wall, over to the outlet. As this totally defeated the purpose, which was to hide the outlet behind the screen, I said no to this as well. My husband suggested running a line from the smoke detector in a nearby hallway, but he was afraid to run into trouble with another switch if he did that.
After all this time (about 45 minutes), I finally said to forget it, as I didn't want the cord to show, and I didn't want him punching a hole through the outside of my house. then he called his boss, who said he should cut another hole in the wall nearby to see if there was interference. When he explained this to me, I agreed as he said it was the only way he could put it where I wanted it. I agreed I would have to fix that hole in the wall after he was done.
When the work was done, there was a big mess on the floor (he didn't use a drop cloth or anything) and on the window (his dirty hands holding on). I had to provide broom, vacuum, wet cloths, etc.. to help him clean up. After he left, I climbed up on a ladder to check the outlet and saw that he only cleaned up the part that I could see from the floor. There was a big pile of sawdust on the middle window ledge.
The bill was very high, I guess because he was here for over 2 hours, but half the time was him trying to convince me to put the outlet somewhere else! I was told they would e-mail me an invoice, which I have never received. And I still have to fix the other hole in the wall now. I will never use this company again and do not recommend them.
