My brother called them for a/c service early in the morning. It was hot & humid! My brother called them & had to leave to go to work before they arrived so it was just me there. My brother told them to go to the back of the unit & I was sitting in my vehicle in the front which he forgot to tell me. The men arrived in a red truck with no lettering on the vehicle & I saw one of them point to my brother's unit. I did not realize it was them for a few minutes later when I saw the neighbor come out & look around at my brothers unit. I went inside & saw them in the back patio area. They were supposed to be there between 10 to 10:30 showed up around 10:50 & the older was awful. He was rude & immediately demanded to know who I was & where my brother was & after trying to explain, he interrupted & wanted to know how he was going to be paid. I told him my brother left me his credit card to pay for the services. He grumbled more about the fact he was told to go to the back of the unit (which is where the a/c is located) & then cooled down finally saying let's start again. During the time he started inspecting the unit; he took the electrical tape off of a part & tossed it to the ground. He turned on the unit on the wall inside & it took a total of about 20 minutes before he came in & said it would be $345 for the 2 relay switches which were bad. He stated that this is the first thing he found & it did not see anything else but once up he would know if more. I asked if he had the parts & he said yes. He then mentioned we might need Freon which would be $54 per pound & it could be anywhere for 1 to 4 pounds may be needed. The $345 included the labor & parts. I called my brother & he told me to tell them no for the repair as it seemed extremely high - & it was unknown as to what further may be needed. The older guy went ballistic & started yelling at me telling me he had other stuff to do & was called from a job in Town N Country to come to help us out & now we were not going to use them for the repair. He accused me of setting them up & started ranting & raving waving his arms, spitting on the ground & then yelling more at me. At this point I was yelling back telling him he needed to call my brother as it was not my decision; however I did agree it seemed too high of a price. He continued yelling at me & I told him that I would never use them again & I would not recommend them to anyone - he still carried on saying he did not care! He demanded the credit card number to charge a $60.00 service call. (Later, I found out that they advertise there is no charge.) The other man was trying to calm him & kept telling him just get in the truck. Finally, he got in the truck & I talked to the other guy who says he was sorry & that the guy was having a bad day & he was really hot (from the humidity & heat) & usually is not this way. He was putting the screws back into the panel covering the unit when the older guy rolled down the window & yelled all the screws weren't in it come on & told him to leave the unit outside unplugged. The younger one said he knows & is finishing & getting the credit card now. They did not pick up the electrical tape thrown on the ground & they left the inside unit on when they left. The older one was horrible & I will not ever use hem again!
