+ 0 moreAfter our initial consultation, Scott emailed me a proposal within 3 days. After narrowing down what I wanted, the demolition began. My countertops were installed. The kitchen and cabinets were painted.The only hold-up was waiting for my accent tiles to be sent from California but once they arrived the backsplash began. After that -- the floor was installed. I also had a small cabinet made where I can store my pills. The only negative was waiting for the tiles which were back-ordered. Other than that I was very happy and now have a beautiful kitchen. I highly recommend the Pence Company.
Description of Work: I would highly recommend Scott Spence as your general contractor. He just completed a re-do on my kitchen that hadn't been touched since the 1970s. Scott will work with you according to your budget and you will have a beautiful kitchen. I now have beautiful granite counter tops and new tile flooring. Instead of replacing my cabinets, we decided to paint them along with the rest of the kitchen. He also installed a new microwave above my stovetop, giving me more much-needed counterspace. I also have beautiful new tile backsplash. The craftsmanship is excellent. Scott is very professional and will help you decide what you need. I am vey happy to recommend him on Angie's List.

+ -1 moreI own a 2/2 condo built in 1978. Some parts had been updated (the kitchen, and I installed hurricane windows a few years ago) but overall the unit was dingy, needed painting (I like bright colors but nobody was going to buy my bright orange and yellow Tuscan-style living room, plus I collect Haitian art so there were a lot of holes in the walls that needed to be patched. Scott came up with a proposal that included what he would do, the cost, and the completion date, which was well below what we had been able to find on the Internet. Plus, we were impressed with his credentials (he has a general contractor's license, a broker's license and a CAM license) and came well-recommended by trusted friends. He got my unit ready to sell -- it is pristine, bring-your-toothbrush ready, and looks great -- so great, I even thought about moving back in! He finished on time, on budget and he was a joy to work with. I highly recommend him.
Description of Work: Scott painted the entire 2/2 condo, tiled and grouted the screened-in patio, put new shelves in the master bedroom closet, the guest bedroom closet and the utility closet. He put in a new toilet in the guest bathroom. He took down an old ceiling fan and painted the LR ceiling. He put in all new wall switches, painted the baseboards, got all the materials, picked out the carpet and stayed there while it was installed. He got my unit ready to sell, which was what I wanted. He did it on deadline and within the price limit I hoped to keep the project to. He stayed in constant communication with me (at least daily, sometimes more).
