"My" shower faucet (the kind you pull out to turn the water on, and turn sideways for hot or cold) had stopped working. We also wanted valves installed on the lines to the toilet, so we could turn off the water to the toilets when we went on vacation. The man who came out was very pleasant, I'll say that for him. He put some new parts in my shower faucet, and seemed to have fixed it. He also installed valves on the water lines to the toilet.
Within a couple of days, my shower faucet stopped working, and one of the toilet valves began leaking. The very pleasant man came back and screwed down the valve harder, stopping the leak. He also fixed my shower faucet, explaining that he had used the wrong part the first time. As a perk, we thought, he said that he would replace my wife's shower faucet for the bargain price of $150 (having already charged us $430 for the other work). We don't know if he did anything, since my wife's shower faucet broke this week and, when it was replaced today, the insides looked very old. The plumber who fixed it today said it was original to the house.
As for the valves on the toilets, the very pleasant man removed metal water lines and replaced them with plastic ones, which are not as secure, since they can break. He also used plastic washers to attach the lines to the toilet; these will break, we have been told.
