"Fortunately, Window World offers a seal failure warranty on our windows if this ever happens at NO cost to our customer. Unfortunately, we are unable to identify why a glass pack may fail. We have found that pressure washing does sometimes cause the double pain windows to fail. Pressure washing, or "soft washing", vibrates the outer pane of the glass pack and will over time cause that seal to fail. Another reason we have seen is sprinkler systems with high water pressure hitting the glass will cause the seal to fail. I don't know if any of the above explanations pertain to Mr. [Member Name Removed], but as I stated above, we replace it for free!"
"This gentleman was not the original purchase of the windows and sliding glass door, and the warranty transfer option was not taken when he purchased the home with our windows and sliding glass door. The gentleman called and said his bottom lock was not operating properly. We pulled the folder associated with his address and asked if he was referring to the sliding glass door. He said yes. We let him know that we would need to reorder the locking mechanism, and since the warranty was not transferred, there would be a $75 service call fee for someone to come out and work on the door, but we would cover the cost of the new locking system. We then ordered the new parts, and called Mr. [Member Name Removed] to let him know the sliding door parts came in and to schedule the service call. Again, he was reminded about the $75 service fee, and that he could just give the check to the technician. Our technician arrived and Mr. [Member Name Removed] took him to the french door and not the sliding glass door. Our technician told him that he didn't have parts for a french door, but showed Mr. [Member Name Removed] the problem with the door and offered to fix it. Mr. [Member Name Removed] told him not to fix it, that he would fix it himself so he didn't have to pay the service call fee. Our technician didn't feel it was his place to argue that the service call charge still applied for the call, and called us immediately to let us know what happened. We invoiced Mr. [Member Name Removed], and then received a call letting us know that he didn't feel that he should have to pay the service call fee because our technician didn't fix the problem. He also told our office that we had installed the french door, which we had not installed, and that we just sent out the wrong part. We let him know that we did not install any hinged doors at this property, but the agreed to service call fee still applied for our technician's time. He was called by the office manager to explain to him again that we did not install the french door, and all the notes referencing the conversations regarding the locking mechanism were referencing the sliding glass door that we did install. He informed our office manager that he thought our front desk people are idiots and that our company is the worst company he has ever dealt with because he was asked to pay for the service call feel he agreed to before the part was ordered and the service call was even scheduled. He did finally pay the invoice, but proceeds to try to hurt our company reputation and our office manager, by naming her first AND last name, specifically, and by posting on every site he can find. We stand behind our warranty and our stellar service we offer ON OUR PRODUCTS. We do not service other company's products, and if he had said it was a French Door and not a sliding glass door in any of the conversations we had with him, before scheduling the service call, we would have told him the same thing that we tell others, we only service our Window World products."
When he completed the job, he locked up the house and left the keys for me where we had indicated. There was no mess for me to clean up and no damage to the walls or surrounding areas of the windows.
I was very impressed with the quality of the work, the product and the honesty/integrity of the technician and the company. Everyone I spoke with during this process was very polite and professional. I highly recommend this company should you need replacement windows.
"I'm so sorry that this customer did not think the final product was what she expected. We have not been contacted by her and was not aware that there were any concerns regarding the trim out of the windows. We will contact her to discuss her concerns."
"This customer wanted a full cap on his exterior trim, but this service is not a required service to replace windows and was not in his contract. We were happy to add this service to the contract, but he did not want to pay the extra labor and materials charge to full cap his windows."
Other than that I am very satisfied with the windows. We got EXACTLY what we wanted. We were very surprised that the price was so much less than we spent on window replacements in other homes in the past.
I was very glad that they suggested side opening windows over the kitchen sink and bathroom, as it makes it so much easier to open!
I would highly recommend these guys. I was not around during the install period but my husband said they were nice guys and had everything completed in 2 days, and most importantly worked with his sleeping schedule.

1) The purchase process was tense as there were several unexpected extra charges such as the one to remove the original, steel-frame windows. It is, in my opinion, a bogus extra charge because the frames were easily removed. One small slice with a small saw, one jerk on the frame and it was out. Cannot imagine another type of frame being easier to remove.
2) Be very careful if ordering double-hung windows that they are installed in such a way that they can be locked, especially larger windows. It takes careful installation to get them in exactly the right position to make the locking mechanism work.
3) Customer service is handled locally (as compared to where the windows are manufactured ? Akron, Ohio or at the franchise headquarters in NC) and it is awful. I called to make sure the special windows we paid extra for were, indeed, installed and were installed in the correct windows. The ?support staff? acted as if I were a big nuisance to request this information. Their records were not in a condition that they could tell me how to determine if the windows were installed in the correct location. It took a call with the male owner, who was greatly annoyed with me, and a visit to our house by his wife to ascertain that the windows were installed correctly. While dealing with them on this issue, the company attitude was that I was being unreasonable to request this information, even though these two windows looked exactly the same but had different "extras" associated with them (UV protection and thermal protection.
As far as I can tell the windows themselves are fine. After a year-and-a-half, there is one window with two small spots of rust and a small area with corrosion. I hate to think about having to call them to get these corrected should that become necessary.
The installers were great - took great care to not step on plants, to replace or repair loose stucco that came out with the old windows, to remove all debris. The primary installer left his phone number and came back the next day to respond to a few minor issues of window adjustments and missing caulk. They were great to deal with, unlike the owners.
