When I initially contacted Mike, I had a long list of handyman projects that needed to be done around the house. When he came by, he took his time and answered all our questions. He probably stayed about an hour to go through all the things. I was impressed, so I asked him to take a look at our kitchen and see what he could do about creating a pass through and removing a dated breadbox attached to one of the cabinets and countertop. When I received his quote, it was meticulously itemized, down to the texturing of the walls. Most quotes I received were just general estimates, and no one, except for Mike, really seemed to be concerned about whether the wall was load bearing, so I knew I needed to hire Mike, and I am so glad I did. The opening is exactly what I wanted. I could not be happier.

Mike does great work! He is professional, courteous, punctual, offers a warranty, offers references in his Welcome Kit. We definitely plan to use Mike again. Mike's service is not the cheapest available in Tallahassee. But, it is a lot cheaper (and less stressful) to pay someone to do the work right the first time.

Mike was very professional. He scheduled an appointment to give me an accurate estimate of repairs. I approved the estimate and an appointment was made to complete the work. After completing each job of his work,he asked if it met my expectations. I definitely will hire Mike back for future handyman work.

I found the Tallahassee Handyman on Angie's List based on high reviews, so I had I high hopes. I was not disappointed. I simply wanted a tile back splash installed (not a hard project, but one I didn't feel capable of doing myself). Mike was easily available when I needed to reach him and he was very professional in his work. Although he ran late, he made sure to contact me to let me know. The quality of the back splash is excellent, and I am very happy with it and believe it brings added value to my house. I would hire him again for other projects and would recommend him to friends and family.
His workmanship was great, but just as important to me, he was also very nice and even put up with my dog without showing any irritation or unfriendliness.

Mike is a great person to deal with for repairs. He provided both a best case and worst case scenario of the work (until wood rot was removed it could not be seen what was below the surface area) for his estimate. The estimate contained everything that I needed to know about what he would be doing and breakdown of all the work for both possibilities. It was nice getting a minimum price along with a not to exceed price on the work. Oncehe started the work he was in constant motion. He knows his job and takes great pains to insure that you are getting your money's worth. I also like that he is a person that gives you updates during the job and makes sure that you are informed of anything he finds or if he encounters something that needs your review before he does anything. At the end of the job I was above pleased with the work and the repairs that he performed. It was great quality and he is great craftsman to use for repairs around the house.

Mike is professional. He communicates very well with what he was going to do, and kept me informed the entire time about the process. When he came to give me his estimate, he drew up a contract with me and wrote out exactly what he was going to do before he started so we were on the same page as to what I needed for him to do and what it was going to cost. It sounded like a simple task, but because of the uneven floors and how the door frame was hung, it was not. Mike knows what he is doing and does it very well. I am very pleased with how the double doors look in our master bedroom. He estimated that it might take him a few hours to do, but because of the uneven floors and doorframe, he also estimated that it could take longer and so he set a price for that as well. So there was a minimum price and a "not to exceed" price. The price I paid him might look high, but it took him over 6 hours from the shopping to Lowes to the finish to get it exactly right. This guy is not a goof off. He worked very hard all those hours, and It was worth every penny

I've had a lot of people do work at my house over the years and Mike has been by far the nicest, most honest and fairest person I've dealt with. And the work he does is high quality. He provided multiple options in his quotes and often recommended the less expensive one. He reminded me of an HGTV host because I could tell he enjoyed what he was doing and he liked educating my wife and I about the work he was doing without talking down to us or being frustrated that we weren't experts like many other contractors seem to be. Would definitely have him back to do more work, and have tried, but he's booked pretty far out now. I highly recommend Mike.
