Tallahassee Floor Finishing

Tallahassee Flooring's price came in at the middle but we were really impressed by Tom's (owner) knowledge and creativity to give us the floor we want. TF was also the most recommended by our neighbors. This was an extremely tight schedule since we were moving into the house and wanted the floors complete before the furniture arrived. The flooring was completed today and the movers arrive tomorrow (did require emergency weekend work) but mission accomplished...

Tallahassee Flooring was called when the company who installed the original floor did not call us back with a proposal.  They came out quickly, responded with an immediate proposal and were even able to start a day early which gave us an extra day at the end to let the floors dry thoroughly.
The workmen were outstanding!!!   Since we lived in part of the house while the floors were being done, all bedroom doors, cabinets, bookshelves, chandelier, etc were wrapped in plastic to reduce the dust. While we were told that we didn't have to do anything to prepare for them to come, we removed pictures from the walls and small furniture so they could get started. They removed all the heavy furniture and came back 2 days after the last coat was applied, to move everything back.
The floors are breath-taking and you cannot tell which is the new floor and which is the old. I gave this company a B on punctuality because on two days they did not come when arranged, but for a week's project, I was totally satisfied with the Tallahassee Floor Finishing and would highly recommend them.

Overall, the quality was good, but the service was terrible.

The overall experience with Tallahassee Floor Refinishing was good and bad. The GOOD: The work done on the floor by Angel and his partner was just great. They did an excellent job!! The new wood/stain match perfectly and there is no way to tell where the grates once were. Angel was very professional, extrememly polite, and clearly wanted to make sure we were happy with them and their work. He and his team get an "A" for Overall Experience, an "A" for professionalism, and an "A" for Responsiveness.  I would use this company again, only if I could work strictly with Angel.
The only complaint we have about the work done on the floor was that for some reason they did not take off the quarter round so there were stain marks on it all around the room.  We received a call from Mr. Vangate last night asking us to inspect the floor and if we were satisfied to leave a check for him under the mat. I was surprised he didn't come over and walk through the room with us (as has been done by other floor refinishing companies we've used).  We attempted to call him back, but Mr. Vangate's voicemail box was full. We were able to contact Angel, who said they'd come right over to take care of it. 
The BAD: The reason for the"C" in Overall Experience, the "F" for Professionalism, and the "C" for Responsiveness is due ONLY to my interactions with the owner, Mr. Vangate.  From the first meeting I had with him I thought he was rude and indifferent. When Mr. Vangate showed up this morning to fix the quarter round problem I was truly taken aback by his lack of professionalism and concern about our satisfaction with the work that had been done. All that was said to me was that he was there to paint the quarter round and would I please settle up with him because he was leaving town later today. When I told him that I'd prefer to wait until the job was done he replied, "What, don't you trust me?" There was no concern or interest in our satisfaction with the job and there was little more than a "sure" when I said that I was sure he understood that any consumer/customer would be foolish to pay for something that is not finished or done to satisfaction. His response and attitude was not what I'd expect from the owner of a business. Mr. Vangate's rudeness and indifference was so offputting that I would not recommend him to anyone for anything. As I stated earlier, if I could be assured of only interacting with Angel, I would consider having  Tallahassee Floor Refinishing do additional work in our home.

It took a few days as it was a repair.

They work was excellent and the people were great. However, one night we stopped by to check on the work and we noticed that every light was left on and the back door was left wide open. We called the owner and he was flabbergasted and apologetic. It didn't happen again after that.
