"First, I would like to say this is a wonderful family who is extremely frustrated with Southern Flooring as a result of inaction from the distributor and manufacturer of the product that was installed in their home. Obviously, we’d like to share our experience and clarify accusations leveled by this review… A week or so after the installation of the floors, our client noticed a crack in the finish of a board installed in the kitchen. Southern Flooring immediately sent an installer to replace it. Several weeks later, Southern Flooring visited the home again to look at additional concerns. Afterwards, the distributor was contacted and an inspection was requested. When it became apparent the inspection was not coming from the manufacturer, Southern Flooring called an independent inspector to have an unbiased inspection done to determine what was going on with the wood floors. An inspector with over 44 years of experience and the former President of the National Association of Floor Covering Instructors was hired. The inspector both visited the site, as well as produced a 26 page report clearly stating the issue with the flooring was related to the finish. A completed report was sent to the homeowner and the distributor. Thereafter, the manufacturer offered a few hundred dollars and 3- 4 boxes of wood to remedy the problem. Unfortunately, this was only 25% of the wood needed to repair the floor. We discussed with our client that this offer was not enough to correct the problem. Southern Flooring DID NOT take the credit from the distributor and again, asked the manufacturer to honor the inspection report or send a manufacturer representative to inspect the floors. We asked the Distributor to please reach out to and discuss this directly with our client. He stated that he had a discussion with our client and was going to put them in touch with the manufacturer. Our last several attempts to reach our client have been unsuccessful. In conclusion, Southern Flooring has and continues to be an advocate for our client."
"In response to the member's posting, The member did not like the way the end joints of her selected Armstrong wood were milled. There was a slight height difference which sometimes is more prevalent in a square edge square end product. Because we care about all of our customer’s satisfaction, the Armstrong Rep. was contacted and in turn scheduled a visit to the completed job site. Upon inspection the member was informed by the Armstrong Rep that her floor was installed beautifully and the slight height difference at the end joints was within the manufacturing tolerance standards set forth by the National Wood Flooring Association. (Not Armstrong) The ends were measured and documented. While we understand the member's frustration, we as well as all other manufacturers and flooring retailers must abide by standards set forth by that industries governing body. As to why the member waited nearly a year to post this, I do not know. I can however say with certainty that many of the member's neighbors have seen the finished product at her home and in turn both visited and purchased flooring from us here at Southern Flooring. All of our customers are valued, and their satisfaction is priority one."
