I called the owner of the company and told him that he needed to come to my house and inspect the work of his employee. He said that he would stop by in two days but he never showed up and I never heard from him again.
"Southeast Painting offered to send the painter back to take care of these issues at that time, which is standard protocol. However the customer declined our offer at that time to add additional coats of paint because he thought it should be 'included' in the original price. A few weeks later, the customer's adult son who was visiting, called to reiterate the complaint, there was no specific action or appointment made as it is our policy to deal directly and only with our customer(s) - not with third party individual(s). Southeast Painting is a 30+Year locally owned business with a solid reputation. It is unfortunate that folks can simply turn to social media to bash a business without any verification other than 'checking' a box."
"This person is NOT a customer of Southeast Painting; she hired Southeast Construction LLC, not Southeast Painting, to perform miscellaneous residential renovation items. All items completed were completed satisfactorily; there wasn't any quality-related issues; issues were 'payment' related; [Member Name Removed] did not pay final balance and demanded more work be done that was not part of their contract. Unfortunately Southeast was unable to resolve 'personality' and 'personnel' issues with this customer. This customer refused to pay her final balance and chose to bash Southeast because she didn't get additional work for free. It is amazing how some people say they "thought that was included" like there is one price for additional work they want to add while our employee is on site (while the boss is not around)."
"[member name removed]: Unfortunately, Southeast Painting Inc. had to file suit against Mrs. Wilson for Breach of Contract in the Leon County Court. Southeast Painting Inc. was awarded settlement on August 8, 2009, at Leon County Court Mediation as per Leon County Case No. 09-3065 Our 'Statement of Claim' was as follows: "BREACH OF CONTRACT: [member name removed] STOPPED THE JOB BEFORE IT WAS COMPLETED, THEN REPEATEDLY POSTPONED COMPLETION OF CONTRACTED WORK DUE TO PERSONAL REASONS. AFTER THE REQUESTED DELAY TIME PERIOD HAD EXPIRED, MRS. WILSON FURTHER POSTPONED COMPLETION OF SAID WORK WHICH HAS ULTIMATELY RESULTED IN TERMINATION OF THE JOB BEFORE ITS COMPLETION. CUSTOMER WILL NOT PAY THEIR FINAL BILL." Southeast tried its best to work things out with Mrs. Wilson, but could not. Mrs. [member name removed] would not pay for services delivered. Mrs. [member name removed] then chose to come here to Angie’s List to tell half the story in attempt to damage the reputation of Southeast Painting, a 30-year company."
