Smith Painting & Door Restoration

Travis Smith has done several jobs for me and does excellent work, but he is often not available or late. He usually responds to my phone calls and texts, but this last time , I haven't heard back. He is such a very nice young man and I am hoping he will eventually return my calls. I paid him $300 per his request weeks ago, just for supplies. I have not seen him since! Hoping he is okay. If anyone knows, please check on him. I had previously had him do a big job and it was worth the amount I paid because he does very good work. But right now, I am out $300. I clicked on "Will Hire Again" because I do trust him. He is a good person.

Received an estimate and was promised a day of service. They never showed. We rescheduled, as they had gotten behind (I have seen their work and it was excellent). But then they never showed up for me, nor did they return phone calls.I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. But I've been waiting a month and have given up.

Having worked with Travis Smith previously, when he was employed by another local company, I paid him the full amount to complete the work we agreed upon, which was estimated to take 3 days. It ended up taking more than a month to complete the work. During that month, Travis was repeatedly hours late to arrive when he said he would, or, he would call with an excuse for why he couldn't work that day, or, most often, he simply failed to show up.

I'm happy with the quality of his work. He was always very polite, and he cleaned up his supplies at the end of the day. He did some extra work at no additional charge to compensate for the time it was taking to complete the agreed-upon job.

Still, since he was charging an excessively premium price for his work, he should have completed the work within a reasonable period of time. Drawing this small job out for more than a month was unacceptable. He painted a house, not the Sistine Chapel ceiling. 

I would not recommend Travis Smith Painting & Door Restoration because the owner didn't complete the job within a reasonable timeframe, and the price I paid was excessive compared to other bids I received.
