Mike's Moving

Ezzell and Alex arrived on the date and at the approximate time that Mike's had said they would, called when they were on their way, were courteous, worked diligently and with great care.  They also remained cheerful, despite having to make numerous trips up and down a difficult staircase, and they did not damage anything.  Mike's Moving was recommended to me by friends, and I would not hesitate to recommend them to others.  The job involved two hours of drive time, three hours loading and 1 hour unloading.

They threw things in boxes. They were very disorganized packing my belongings. When they arrived at my new residence they were rushing to get things off the truck. They did not wrap everything.

Excellent service from start to finish. My first contact was with June. When I called to schedule the estimate she set up the appointment at a time convenient for me and answered all of my questions about the company. David  arrived as scheduled to do the estimate, he looked over my household goods and gave me a verbal estimate after explaining what the charges were for including the fuel charges. They also offer a flat rate if you are interested in that. I did my own packing but they do offer that service. David was very professional and helpful in preparing me for this move. I received my estimate the next day and we made the arrangements, they take credit cards and cash as well as money orders and cashiers checks. On moving day the  moving team arrived on time and after doing a brief walk through started loading boxes. Mike W. was the team leader and very good at his job he loaded the truck like a master puzzle solver. His assistant James L. followed through on all of Mikes directiona. Both of them were extremely pleasnat and polite and it was a pleasure working with them. The had two more men help them ain the afternoon but I only know one  guys name Ezcell B. was great also just got in there and started loading stuff. THey were all very caredul with my belongings and I really appreciated their concern.They arrived at my home the next day as scheduled and were fantastic. Moved a few thing a couple times always with a smile.  I have a 1400 sq foot storage buliding and they were moving good in there as well as into the house. As an ex military wife I can say with certainty that this was the best moving experience I have had. I highly recommend Mikes Moving if you are in their service area.

The mover showed up who was obviously a college student and was in a hurry.  He groumbled and complained about the amount of stuff to move.  We loaded it up in the truck and went to the local storage unit (9x12).  I tried to get him to follow my directions on where I wanted items placed in the storage unit, but all he did was complain and tell me he did not have time for that non sense.  He gave me a hard time about paying with a check but eventually agreed to take it.  It was a poor experience, and I would never use them again or recommend them.

They arrived late.  They gave me an hourly rate and took a break every 30 minutes.  They broke 4 pieces of furniture for which after 6 phone calls and a letter the credited me $125.  They turned all of my furniture up side down to move.  There were things left in the drawers which fell everywhere.  They placed my grill on my 100 year old treadle sewing machine and scratched it.  They left trash in my yard. They took 3 hours to drive to my new house.  It took me 1 hour.  I realize moving is stressful but it was a disaster.

They did a terrible job, and we're very slow. One guy kept rearranging the moving blankets in the truck. It was a terrible experience. We nearly lost our brand new $2000 refrigerator as the movers brought an appliance hand truck with a broken strap. The thing nearly toppled over as they moved it down our front stairs. Luckily we escaped with only dings and scratches, and the fridge seems to be working but who knows how this will affect the life of the fridge. They also damaged our expensive mattress despite the fact that that they made me purchase a "mattress cover." What a scam! However, my valuable vintage furniture did make it over without damage and they did arrive on time. Yet in the end I just have to say, DO NOT USE THIS MOVING COMPANY, they simply don't care about customer service or their reputation.

They came by to give an estimate and they were careful about telling me what was and was not included.  They supplied a sufficient number of people to do the move which included moving a washer and dryer.  They installed the washer and dryer at my new place, they unloaded everything carefully, and they placed things in their rooms.  Fundamentally, I had no objections and I would recommend them.  They ended up charging less than the estimate.

The movers came on time and moved everything in without any scratches.  However, they said they would move the piano in a certain, careful, way requested by my wife, but did not move it that way.  It worked out OK, but they agreed to do it another way - we didn't appreciate that.  There were no surprises when it came time to pay the bill.

I had a great experience on the initial booking of my move. I had to change my move date a few weeks later and the secretary said she was in her car, but would take my info for the new move date. Keep in mind this was almost 3 months out, so no surprises for the mover. Well, my mover shows up a month early because she didn't change the date and that was after I called her twice to confirm the change. I then immediately called the mover to get the schedule right and they informed me that it was too late to get an early spot as promised, because they mest up my schedule. The best is yet to come! On moving day they promised to be there by 2pm. I called them at 230pm asking where they were and the manager swore to me that they were almost done with the job before and that they should be there soon. I called at 4pm and they told me the same thing. They close at 5pm so I called again (3 hours after time quoted) and the secretary said the manager was not there, so I told her that my apartment wants me out and they are going to hit me with a big fee if I am not out. Magically the manager was there to take the call all of a sudden. He proceeded to blow me off and said that they were looking into it and he would call me back. It is now 6pm and surprise he never called back. My mover shows up at almost 7pm. They were on their way home and the manager had not scheduled my move and gave them the contract last minute. It gets better! They were upset so of course my furniture took a beating and they had me sign the contract before they even got done moving so that I could not write the damage down. It took them until almost two in the morning to move a one bedroom! I moved most of the truck myself because all I could picture was my stuff sitting out on the lawn and their truck driving off into the sunset. I paid $30 for a mattress cover that started on the mattresses, but by the time my bed made it to the next locale the cover was gone and my $2000 mattress was damaged. Several days later the movers call me and inform me that they didn't empty out the truck and some of my stuff is at their office. I asked them to deliver it and they refused. I had to drive 30 minutes and take off work, because they close at 5pm, to recover my belongings. I confronted the manager who had blown me off and told him that I would be taking him to small claims court to recoup the money lost on the move. He disappeared into the back room for about 10 minutes and then asked me not to file the suit and that they would pay for the damages to my belongings. Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me. I will not interact with this company anymore and will proceed to seek legal action against this mover.
