For me, honesty and responsibility are the most important factors when working with a technician. I had an issue with my stove range oven. Jim came and replaced the igniter. Later, I noticed that the issue was not resolved. As soon as I informed him (he was on vacation but was still very responsive), he came back and since he could not resolve the issue, he fully refunded my money. Do not see many guys like Jim these days. He’s truly a nice, honest and responsible guy!

I went to his website and sent him an email explaining my problem & expecting a call back to schedule a service call. Instead, he emailed me a link to a YouTube video showing me how to fix the problem myself. He followed that up with a text message letting me know about the email/link. There was no charge when he could have just as easily come out and made money off my problem. Will definitely call him for any future problems I have.

Great. He knew immediately what was wrong and had replacement parts in his truck. I also asked if there was anything he could do about leveling it as never level after initially installed. Said he got it as level as possible. Probably about 85 to 90 percent but in out over 90 year old house nothing is really level. He is very friendly, has decides of experience. Liked to talk but respected time constraints I had.

I have had Mr. Howell repair several appliances for me over the past couple of years. Not living in Tallahassee and owning a property where my kids live while attending college can be a challenge. I talked to Mr. Howell's wife first, and he called me right back. He set up an appointment for the next day and called a half hour beforehand to let me know he was on his way. He was very nice and knowledgeable (31+ years' experience) and repaired a worn wire immediately. Price was more than reasonable. He is my new go-to appliance repair guy!

. Called and left voicemail and received a call back in about 30 minutes. We scheduled an appointment at a time and day that worked best for me. Mr. Howell called when he was about 25 minutes away and arrived at exactly our appointment time. He was fast and took only an hour to get the work done. I was very surprised at the low cost for the repair. In addition to the work, Mr. Howell was very friendly and personable.

Mr Howell was great. He found what was wrong and took the time to explain what had happened and showed me the part that had burned out. He had to order the part and was able to get it fixed in three days. Great service and reasonable prices, plus he's an old time Tallahassee resident. Couldn't ask for more.

Only talked to Mr. Howell over the phone about the problem and he was able to tell me what had to be done and the cost involved. I ended up buying a new washer but appreciated his advice. Very polite and professional. I will call him again.

Mr. Howell was prompt in returning my call. After explaining what the problem was and the model of the machine, he told me what he believed the cause of the problem was. He gave me an estimate for the repair and explained what was involved to complete the work. The estimate was reasonable considering the amount of work that was involved, but it was not much less than buying a new one. While Mr. Howell did not perform the work, I appreciate his honesty and will call him when the need for repair arises.

Had the pleasure of working with Mr. Howell recently. We live nearly 3 hours away and own a condo in Tallahassee where my kids live to attend school. As Murphy's Law would have it the washing machine stopped working 2 hours after we returned home from visiting the kids. I was able to fortunately connect with Mr. Howell via Angie's list. He was very rapid in is response and made every concession to work around the kids busy school schedule. He was able to diagnose the problem just by the description and rapidly and at a fair price fixed the problem. We will keep Mr. Howell on speed dial for future emergencies.

Great. Jim Howell had diagnosed the problem even before he got here. He also fixed another problem for us and included it in the same rate. He was very punctual, knowlegeable and pleasant to deal with. I had lined up another company who couldn't get here for another week and was trying to sell me a new washer and/or appliance warranty before I hung up. I cancelled them and was very glad I did. I recommend Jim Howell without reservation.

LG gas dryer was not drying clothes at all. Called around a to a few repair shops and all but Mr. Howell said they couldn't help with the problem, because they do no work on LG appliances. Mr. Howell called back and offered 3 things to try and if they did not work call him back and he would come by. Low and behold option 2 was to check roof vent, and it was clogged. He was the only one who actually offered some solutions regardless of the model. Kudos to him. He gets my future business.

Our five year old LG washer was leaking even while not in use. I discovered that some appliance repair people won't even touch LG appliances.  Then  I found James Howell Appliance Repair on Angie's list.  I called him, explained the problem and he believed it might be a leaking valve that dispenses the detergent, softener and bleach.  We arranged an appointment for the next    day.  Jim arrived right on time.  He confirmed his diagnosis of the problem and had a replacement valve on his truck.  He promptly replaced the valve and fixed another problem we had been experiencing with the washer.  Afterward, he did a complete diagnostic test of the machine and everything was fine and it still is.  He repairs most household appliances and he will be the person I call if any of them fail.  He is very intelligent and personable.  His price for the work was very reasonable.

I called Jim and explained that the ice maker on our Kenmore Elite refrigerator stopped working. He informed me that he was completely booked for the rest of the day and that he had Jury Duty and didn't want to schedule an appointment on Monday and possibly not be able to meet his obligation. He then shared two names of repairmen who he's worked with previously and vouched for their experience. I appreciate that the fact that he was upfront regarding his availability and didn't attempt to schedule me but referred me to others whose work he respects.

Not only did Mr. Howell arrive promptly, he was able to fix my dryer quickly and efficiently.

Great.  He was on time, professional, very nice, and the price was reasonable.  No problems with the service he provided at all.  Best part was he didn't have to order the part, he already had it.

It was a great experience. I have complete trust in the integrity of troubleshooting and recommendations for part replacement . Will he calling again to repair a microwave soon.

Had me troubleshoot over the phone and did not suspect anything major. Agreed to a home visit. Thoroughly checked out the washer and gave it a clean bill of health. Very modest charge for the visit. Will definitely use Howell for all appliance work.
