"There are a few items that should be clarified. There was one plank of siding that was broken during the replacement of the window trim. It was replaced and repainted to match the existing siding. The damaged corner boards were replaced with a masonite product. The product was labeled as 5/4 x 6 with an actual size of 5.5 inches. After it was installed the owner complained that it was actually 5 3/8. All of the material was removed and replaced with larger material ripped to 5.5 inches in an effort to satisfy the customer. The owner complained of the edge of the material, but their complaints were of the factory edge of the 5/4 x 4 window trim and not the ripped material. They also complained of the reveal where the corner boards met and the size of the gaps where it met the siding. They matched the existing reveal and gaps; I even showed them where material had not been removed was the same. Their final complaint was on the painting of the replaced trim. As a courtesy I primed all the material before I installed it even though the contract specifically excluded any painting. They felt that I should touch it up over the caulking of the nail holes, finger prints, etc. I completed all items in our contract within industry standards of material and workmanship. One item not mentioned in the report is that they never made final payment. I was only paid for the material. I also wish they had rather have done it themselves as they stated, then I would not have lost the time that I was not paid for. I would not work for this owner again."
