I would not recommend them. A couple of years now, there was a different owner, they came out and did some minor things on the outside of our job and did a great job and we had them come back and there was a different guy now and they did a horrible job. I would have rather just have done it myself. We have hardie board on the outside of our house and they actually cracked that and broke pieces of that. When they were placing some of the wood, they used the wrong size, which was too small. We are going to have them paint the house and when we saw their work done, we did not go with them.
Description of Work: Horizon Home Modifications worked on some woodwork and remodeling.

Response from Horizon Home Modifications
There are a few items that should be clarified. There was one plank of siding that was broken during the replacement of the window trim. It was replaced and repainted to match the existing siding. The damaged corner boards were replaced with a masonite product. The product was labeled as 5/4 x 6 with an actual size of 5.5 inches. After it was installed the owner complained that it was actually 5 3/8. All of the material was removed and replaced with larger material ripped to 5.5 inches in an effort to satisfy the customer. The owner complained of the edge of the material, but their complaints were of the factory edge of the 5/4 x 4 window trim and not the ripped material. They also complained of the reveal where the corner boards met and the size of the gaps where it met the siding. They matched the existing reveal and gaps; I even showed them where material had not been removed was the same. Their final complaint was on the painting of the replaced trim. As a courtesy I primed all the material before I installed it even though the contract specifically excluded any painting. They felt that I should touch it up over the caulking of the nail holes, finger prints, etc. I completed all items in our contract within industry standards of material and workmanship. One item not mentioned in the report is that they never made final payment. I was only paid for the material. I also wish they had rather have done it themselves as they stated, then I would not have lost the time that I was not paid for. I would not work for this owner again.
Flawless. Work completed on (or ahead of) schedule and within estimate. Quality of work excellent. Appointments always kept punctually. Follow-up on every item. Modifications handled without problem. Jack was on the job and provided direct supervision of subcontractors, who were there on schedule. This is the only home improvement contractor I've ever encountered who met all my standards for performance and customer service. Recommended without reservation!
