He wrote us up a contract and I had my mom sign it. He did work on our bathroom and also our flat roof. He also installed gutters. We had a summer rain after he did the work. The roof ended up leaking into the house. All of the boarding under the roof ended up having to be replaced due to the unfixed leak. We had several conversations (over several years) after the work was done and he never ended up coming out to fix it. He kept saying he needed 4 or 5 good sunshine days to finish the work. He wasn't a valid person to deal with and eventually stopped answering the phone.

The provider came by the house and checked out what needed to be done and quoted a price which was fine. The next day they came by the house to do the work and I noticed that when they were finished, they were keeping the pack of shingles and quart of paint, that I essentially paid for, in their truck. Ultimately, that made me realize that they were attempting to keep material that I paid for and not make an effort to let me keep what I paid for. At the end of the job, I mentioned that I was going to make some changes. Before I could even continue, the provider started to go off on me, raising his voice and blasting me for no reason. I was very much wowed at the fact that this individual was talking to me this way and he did not even allow me to explain what the changes were. He just heard the word " changes" and just jumped to conclusions. All I wanted to say was that if he was going to keep the pack of shingles and the paint, then that should be deducted from the price. Of course, I had to tell him to stop his bullying and listen to what I wanted to say. As the customer, you can make changes based on the end result of a project. If the project is not to a persons' satisfaction, then the customer has the final say. This provider wanted to bully his way to the final say and I was not having it.
