Crawford's Moving & Delivery

It did not go well. Unaswered phone and text messages, a no show on moving day. Bad mouthing the competition. Unprofessional only begins to describe the experience. My daughter is moving in with us to go Nursing school and her condo full of furniture was to be split delivery with some of her furniture coming to our house and some going to storage. "not a problem" was the response at the initial walk through. As the 8:30 or 9:00 appointment time drug out, and storm clouds approached from the southwest, we called, and woke owner Fred Kimball. Yes, woke Fred. Sorry to have disturbed your sleep. We are trying to move. He had no idea where the two guys were that were supposed to be coming and didn't seem to know how to contact them. No offer to call right back with that information. Another call, a half hour later, still no idea where his crew (a pick up crew or none at all, we don't know). We would assume that if he actually remembered we had an appointment. His irate response? "I overslept, don't worry, I quoted a flat rate, it doesn't matter what time we move. We'll get it moved." Notice there was no I'm sorry statement anywhere in there. We only had his number because the owners at Budget Storage recommended this mover. Not to reflect on the good people at Budget Storage, but Southern Star is not a recommendation that I would make. We will probably punt with a rental truck and some friends as the things that had to come to our house got moved by my 4x6 trailer between rain showers. I can't some up in one word, Unprofessional, I have to add, Pathetic.
