Cancelled my service a week or two ago because of poor connectivity at my house (had 5-6 different techs visit my house through out the year to mitigate without long term success).  I then get a call from a collection agency trying to collect a "supposed modem" that Comcast had rented me.  The problem is, I have always owned my own modem!  Because of this issue though they did not close down my account fully and I may be liable for another bill, which of course I will dispute.  I had to prove that the modem was mine even though I have never had anything on my bill/on their end state that I had a modem rented to me.  They are essentially trying to squirrell more money from me.  I will never use Comcast again!  I have lost almost a $1,000 dollars staying at home waiting for techs to come in their very famous "Time frame windows" = "We can see you between 8-12".
I have since switched to Century-Link which  operates off the phone line, which we all know is buried deep and is very reliable.  Speed is actually the same!
