We were referred to Central Heating Consultants from a friend. Our son's bedroom is consistently HOT in the summer and FRIGID in the winter, while the master bedroom is the opposite. We've fiddled with the registers, but nothing has helped. Benson's Heating and Air regularly services our electrostatic filters, and estimated a $5K duct work replacement. We called Central Heating Consultants for a second opinion. The guys were punctual and professional. They were in the attic for less than an hour, and came down with a big piece of an air duct. They said it was a simple fix and it was no charge. Our rooms are equally air-conditioned, and we're all in shock that it was a simple fix and FREE. Goodbye Benson's!

The technician appeared to be competent and examined all 4 heat pumps that serviced the house and attached apartment. The price seemed unreasonable considering the amount of time required and spent. The service call took a total of about 1 1/2 hour for all 4 units and they charged $366 for labor, or about $200/hour. They added 5 pounds of Freon and charged $65/lb for the Freon, whereas it can be bought online for about $20/lb which seems like a very high profit margin. One of the units had an intermittent problem with the fan running all the time, but since it didn't fail when he was there so this was not investigated. Although I stated above that I would not use them again I will keep an open mind when I need future service for my heating and A/C units.
