Ok. The workman Rock Stone accidentally chipped the adjacent bathroom ceramic tile while installing the laminate in the hallway. Rock stated that the threshold piece would cover up the hole where the tile broke (3") . Well the threshold never did fully cover up the work. My bad for not pressing the issue - was exhausted with dealing with flooring issues.
