Band T Fencing was recommended to us by a friend. I called them and set up an appointment with their salesman, who came out, did a rough drawing, and gave me an estimate. The procedure was that I would pay half for a deposit and the balance upon completing the job. I did this, sending in my check for $647.50 on April 22, 2013. I was told that I would receive a phone call once the check was received so that we could schedule a work date. I waited about a week and a half before calling again to make sure they got my check. I was told that the bookkeeper wasn't there but would be in later that day and no one else could ascertain if my check was received. I finally got a call saying they had the check and were having a production meeting the next day, at which time my job would be put on the schedule. I waited again, didn't hear anything and called their office. This time I was told, after being put on hold for several long minutes, that we weren't on the schedule. At that point I insisted on speaking to the owner. Ryan, the owner, talked to me and said he would be out the next day. He came out and, luckily, my husband was home, so we could both talk to him. It was at this point that he said the salesman underestimated the linear footage of the fence by 96 feet. He also showed us the drawing his salesman had done. It was completely incorrect and, as stated above, the footage was underestimated. Ryan talked to us for quite a while, promising a professional job. He convinced us we would get a very professional job and we agreed to go ahead. We even agreed to split the difference in cost for the additional fencing. However, once again, we had a problem. Again, we weren't put on the schedule. Finally, the installer came out with a helper but he didn't have enough fencing to complete the job (he was given the incorrect footage from the original estimate). He said he'd have to go back and get more fencing. I didn't hear anything for several days and once again, called the office and talked to Ryan. He said the installer would be back out on a certain day. He did show up on the day promised, along with his helper and the correct amount of fencing. Unfortunately, we also had a problem with No Cuts, who came out and said there were no wires running along the area where the fence was to go. First post hole dug, our neighbor's cable was cut. The fence and two gates went up, however the installer left for two hours to go buy materials he needed for a private job he was doing and left his helper sitting at the table on my patio. By the time he got back it was too late to finish so he came back the next morning to finish the job. When it was done, I went out to inspect it. While I was out there, I heard his truck leave. I discovered that every nail that was used on every fence piece came through the other side, meaning there were pointed nails sticking out of the whole fence, top, middle, and bottom. Once again I called Ryan, who promised to send the installer out to fix this. And again I heard more apologies. The installer came back out, indignant that I, a woman, questioned his work. When I showed him that the gate didn't fit properly at the bottom, he asked me, and quot;Well, what do you want me to do about it? Take it off?and quot; I just stood there, stunned, and turned around and walked into the house and called Ryan. I heard a heavy pounding, and then the truck leave. Ryan apologized for his installer's attitude and assured me he would take care of disciplining him. I received the bill for the balance and paid it, but I would never, ever use this company again, nor would I recommend them to build a dog house, much less a fence. Do not even consider Band T Fencing for any job you want done professionally. We are stuck with a $1,440.00 fence and are definitely not happy.
