It went great!  Joe, Calvin and Matt were on time, and got to work as soon as they got here.  They were very fast and efficient, but very careful with all of our stuff.  They got done in just two hours, and managed to fit a lot more in the POD than we thought would fit in there. 
Were were VERY happy with their work.

Amwat moved much of our furniture and contents from our home to a local storage facility.  They arrived exactly when they were scheduled, handled our possessions with care and behaved in a friendly, professional and efficient manner.   We are selling our home and plan on using them when we sell our house and move to our new home.

My experience with them went well. They were very friendly and were what we were looking for. They did the delivery well and delivered in a timely fashion.

I might sell some things and get back with them. I would have loved to use them but could not do it.

We made the move in 3 phases because our new house was being remodeled and was not ready. The movers were very easy to work with and the men were able to handle some very large heavy pieces coming from upstairs and going upstairs. They were able to work quickly and move our furniture around until it was placed exactly where we wanted it with no complaints.

They were very prompt, efficient and friendly. My furniture was delivered in perfect condition. I would recommend them without hesitation.

The whole moving process from the time they arrived at our home in Tallahassee to delivery at our home in Stone Mountain was excellent.  After reading the AMWAT reviews on Angies List I was convinced they were the company for me.  I couldn't have asked for a better experience.  The movers were professionals in every sense of the word.  They loaded the contents of our house in 4 hours, drove to Atlanta and arrived the next morning bright and early and had everything in the house setup in 3 1/2 hours.  They took care in both houses not to damage floors, walls, etc.  None of the contents of our 100+ boxes were broken or damaged.  AMWAT did a fantastic job at a fair price.  I would highly recommend AMWAT if you are planning a move in your future.

Having moved many times, all across the country, we are well aware that moving is not any fun.  Further, it can be hard to find a good local mover when you are fairly new to an area (we moved to the area less than a year ago).  So we looked on Angie's List for local movers and called the top few listed.  Hands down, AMWAT was the nicest company that we dealt with for the initial appraisal.  The salesman was courteous and professional, and gave us a price that was in the range of the other companies.  What set them apart at this stage were two things:  they gave us a "not to exceed" price, and they also correctly explained what the valuation coverage meant (at least one other mover explained it incorrectly).  So far so good.  But even though the salesman was great, he was not the person who was going to perform the move....
So how were the movers?  They were fantastic!  Norris, Frank, Martez and Fidel arrived on time and were incredibly friendly and professional.  It was clear that they knew what they were doing, enjoyed doing what they were doing, enjoyed working with each other, and enjoyed working with AMWAT.  They came with two trucks so that we could be moved in one day (we have a LOT of stuff).  When they took things our of the first house, they did not mar a single wall or damage anything.  Nothing.  It was perfect.  And they took incredible care of our things, ensuring everything was padded and wrapped (furniture) or boxed (mattresses).  ANd while they said that they work through lunch to make sure things get done, we were more than happy to provide them with lunch and insist that they take a break.  The move in to our new house was almost flawless.  A few marks on the carpet, and a single lost shelf peg fora bookcase were the only problems (and for those, which they readily marked on the sales receipt,we were called the next day by their office to make arrangements to clean the carpet and replace the peg.  They called us the next day!  That is fantastic customer service).
They finished on time.  And were enjoyable to be around until the end (and trust me:  they worked their tails off all day).  But the most impressive part:  when they totaled up the bill, it came in at **less** than the do not exceed price.  Amazing!
If we ever move again, I am going to hire AMWAT and would even consider flying Norris, Frank, Martez and Fidel to the place we are moving just to have them unload us.
If you need a mover, these are the guys, and AMWAT is the company.

I would highly recommend AMWAT. They were on time and efficient for both moves. I had the same team perform both moves and all three movers were friendly and professional both times they moved my things. They movers wrapped up the furniture in blankets and moving wrap and were very careful with the boxes. The price was very reasonable and they came in below the original estimate because the movers worked so quickly. It ended up being substantially less expensive than some of the "cheaper" moving companies because they provided 3 movers, who moved my entire 2 bedroom house in just 2 hours. They took excellent care of my belongings. However, a cheap couch was broken in the move (a wooden board on the bottom of the couch was broken). Despite not purchasing the insurance with AMWAT, they provided a furniture repair person who picked up the couch, fixed it, and returned it without charge. I will never again use another moving company. AMWAT was great!!!

My experience overall went very well. They were very professional and friendly. They took great care of my things. I would highly recommend them to others.

The entire experience was a miracle. They guys showed up on time on Saint George, packed our 2000 sq. ft. house in 4 hours. They dropped off a small load at the rental house and were on their way within the hour. Total time...5 hours. We had done most of the small item packing ourselves. In preparing our furniture for storage, everything was wrapped and carefully handled.

After we bought a house in Tallahassee they came and moved our stuff from Apalachicola. A week later the brought the storage stuff to the new house. They were finished in a flash.

They know what they are doing. They are professional, friendly, and courteous. The office staff provides high quality customer service. The price was very reasonable.

Next time I move they will do all the packing as well.

Excellent service. Took time to move us properly over three days: one day to pack items, second day to move boxes on to truck, and third day to move into apartment.

Dean Pugh initially came out and conducted an inventory of our household goods. His estimate included everything that we considered moving and included a six-section wall-to-wall/ceiling to floor unit, a piano, a two story ladder, pressure washer, iron gate, antique furniture that required special treatment. We told him at that time that there was also an off site storage room that needed to be loaded as well. We showed him all our expensive antique pieces that were fragile and that we did not want damaged. He assured us that he had a truck large enough that they wouldn?t have to stack these pieces on top of one another. He mentioned that he could provide a 53-foot truck that could handle all we had. He submitted a proposal to us and it was higher than another company that had also inventoried our household goods by more than $1,800. We told him we were considering this other company, and he came back and told us that he was the only company on Angie?s List and that he had no complaints against him, whereas the other company did, and for us to check it out to confirm his statement. We talked to the other company, and he did not have as large a truck and he admitted he had three complaints, but all but one had been settled. He told us he would have to stack our antiques on top of each other. For this reason, and the fact that Mr. Pugh was on Angie's List decided us to pick him, even though he was more expensive than the other company. We found a place to rent in Tampa, and called Mr. Pugh and told him that we selected him to transport our goods, and again told him of the off storage site. We agreed on a new estimate to ship our household goods to Tampa that was still about $1,200 more than the other company. The A.M.W.A.T. driver came a day earlier than planned so they could begin loading the truck since we had so much to transport. When the truck arrived, I noticed it was not as big as I expected, and I was told by the driver that it was a 44-foot truck and not the larger one we thought Dean Pugh would send. The driver assured us he could load everything on the truck including the off-site goods. I had my doubts, but decided that he knew his business. They stacked our antique furniture which I thought they were not suppose to, but the driver assured me that he would not put anything heavy on them and he wrapped them in heavy clorth mats. In the end, they still did not have sufficient room in the truck to pack all our furniture and boxes that we contracted to ship to Tampa; despite the fact that we did not take the wall-to-wall unit, the piano, ladder, pressure washer and iron gate. Mr. Pugh told us later that he initially thought our backyard shed was the off site storage area that we were talking about, but we distinctly told him when we finally agreed to select him, that we wanted the off-site storage area that we rented to be included in the move. I even told him we had moved most of the boxes over to that site as well as some of our furniture just prior to the move. The driver was told of the off-site storage area the day he arrived by the company, and he still thought he could load all of our goods on his truck. He even missed a few items in the house, and refused to take several house plants telling us the law would not permit him to ship them even though they originated in Florida and were not crossing state boundaries. When he arrived at the off-site storage area, he only had space for the furniture. He couldn?t pick up any of the boxes. He didn?t tell me that Mr. Pugh had another truck available to ship the remainder of my goods, and I didn?t know to call him myself at that time. Before they moved us to Tampa, my wife specifically asked Mr. Pugh if he hired non company day labor, and he said he did not. However, the driver did just that. Some of my antiques were damaged and scratched and some items completely ruined. The off-site storage unit still had boxes to be shipped down to Tampa. I called Mr. Pugh and complained. He assured me that he would have a truck going down to the Tampa area before the end of the month, and they would pick up these boxes and ship them down to me. About a week before the end of the month, I called him and he stated he didn?t think he could ship my goods before the end of the month, which meant that I would have to pay another month?s storage on these goods. He said he could store them and take them down within a month or two when a truck was headed that way, but he would charge me for storage. I told him I would keep it there since I was being charged a cheaper rate. He promised he would try and find a truck as soon as possible, but after a few days passed and I didn?t hear from him, I decided to rent a truck myself and take the boxes in the off-site storage unit down to Tampa with the help of my son-in-law before the end of the month and save another month?s storage expense. If Mr. Pugh had provided a bigger truck to move my goods as he promised, this would never have happened. We had to rent a truck costing $328.36 plus gas, and my time and my son-in-laws time to complete the move he should have done if he had brought the right sized truck in the first place. In addition, the use of local day labors and the fact he had to pack the truck he sent so tightly to get what he could into it, resulted in the damage and destruction of some antique pieces which he initially assured us would be safe because of the ample storage room and handling expertise of his company employees. I sent him a letter along with a claim for reimbursement of the extra costs in shipping the remainder of my household goods and for damaged or broken pieces that he shipped in the company truck. I haven't heard from him since I sent the letter.

We had a great experience. In fact, this is the second time we have used A.M.W.A.T. Moving & Warehousing. We will use their services again and refer this company to many of our freinds.

UPDATE - Member's Reply to Provider Response: I had problems with AMWAT, but the owners went above and beyond to rectify the problem. They called me today, 10/6/09, and customer service blew me away. I would like to change the grade to A.
