Worse than horrible!! ZERO STARS, or LESS..... SIMPLY THE WORST!!! Unprofessional, unreliable, untrustworthy, and DOWNRIGHT RUDE... NEVER deal with a woman called Missy there... She will promise, and NOT DELIVER!... Never return phone calls, or emails... I see, (and hope) for a very short existence for this company with customer service like this... Too bad, because the guys that DO THE WORK are more than likely good at what they do... NEVER, EVER Solar Bear!!!! Home Depot uses them for installation jobs..... HUGE MISTAKE, and I hope they read customer reviews, and DUMP THESE SCAMMERS Me

Is there a negative star to be used? If so that is what this company needs! I went through Home Depot to have two A/Cs installed into my duplex back in March 2016 and Home Depot sent the contract job to Solar Bear to be completed. The ONLY time they were on time was when the salesman came out to get the documents signed from then on was nothing but problems. Once they installed the units we noticed that the walls had condensation on them at all time and that they were cold to the touch. We contact Solar Bear to ask why. They sent the first tech out and he told my wife that they were wet from the rain. Problem with that is that it had not rained in two weeks. So I had to call back and ask for another tech and they said that they send the supervisor. His excuse was that it was normal for outside units to do this. So I asked why did the old units not sweat or was cold to the touch and he said they where not strong enough. Not happy with the answer I had to call back again and get a third person. By this time there was allegory growing on the wall causing discoloration. They continued to give me the run-around until I contacted Home Depot and they sent there area manager. As soon as he saw what I was talking about he said that there was a problem! (DUH) He contact Solar Bear himself and asked for a tech to meet him at my house to go over the problem. To have these A/Cs installed my wife and I our now at 5 visits for this one job. The problem is if I am not at work I do not make money, but Solar Bear does not care they got paid. The next tech that came out determined that when they installed the system that they did not seal the unit properly between the wall and the unit which was causing the problem. It took them MULTIPLE visits to fix the problem on both side some where about 6 times they were at my house before they finally fixed both sides. Next, I had to contact them to close the permit with the city. Again this was a whole ordeal, they originally permit was not properly filed and they had to get that straighten out. I was three week away before the permit would of been closed do to inactiveness. I was so happy to have that finished, but it did not end there! Since that time the slab that the A/C sits has started falling apart. Again this was part of there work in order bring the A/C unit to code. We received a call from them 3 weeks ago asking if we would like to extend our service contract with them. My wife asked what service contract? They representative said there was a year service contract that came with the unit. My wife said why would I extend a service contract when you NEVER came and serviced the unit since it has been installed. She was silent. The representative asked again do we want to renew the contract, and my wife asked what about the year that Solar Bear did nothing? Her original answer was there is nothing she could do about that. My normally calm and quiet wife LOST IT! So the representative said she would have to talk to the supervisor about it and she will call back. Well good old Solar Bear did not call back and my wife had to pursue them! There response was that they could only service it once. So my wife asked in the one year how many times should of your company came to my house? They told her every 6 months. My wife asked why am I only getting one visit? Again silence. So tired of fighting with Solar Bear my wife setup an appointment for yesterday between 4 and 6 pm. My wife waited and after 5:30 she called and asked what is going on. The representative said the service tech was running a little late and will be at my house shortly. My wife waited until 6:45 with no call or anyone showing up. I do not know what the guy with 5 stars received, but I wish Solar Bear would treat all there customers the same way. Solar Bear has not shown me sense of good business ethics from the time the systems where installed to now. DO NOT USE THEM!!!

We purchased an air conditioning system from Solar Bear in Miami, Florida, and it was a huge mistake. The 1st unit installed had a number of issues and ultimately had a major leak which badly damaged our newly-remodeled master bathroom. The bill for the repair was $8,000. They installed a 2nd unit. We waited a few months to do the repairs to make sure it would work. When our contractor began to tear out the ceiling, the 2nd unit was leaking. They had to come out again to fix it. So far it's working, but we constantly worry it will happen again. We submitted the bill for the repairs to Solar Bear more than a month ago. They have totally ignored us and won't return our numerous phone calls. Looks like we will be hiring a lawyer soon to pursue our claim. Hire them at your own risk!

I would never recommend them and I would never use them again.

From beginning to end the entire job was handled promptly and professionally.
Salesman Brad was available at all times to handle any questions and the installers could not have been better!
I would/will definitely recommend them to anyone considering a new A/C unit.

Courteous, prompt, responsive.  I was very happy with their work.

Never showed up. No explanation except they forgot or too busy. Never called to advise would be late or not be there at all. Three separate occasions. Failed to return calls.

Basically called for an AC replacement estimate. Was told by a previous vendor that no Federal Tax Rebate existed (discontinued 12/31/13) and that any AC vendor who claimed these rebates still existed was dishonest. Lo and behold Mr Rey Rodriquez who was shilling at the Costo Davie store as you walk out told me there WERE federal rebates. So basically when I validated both on line and through his main office no FEDERAL rebates existed he gave me a run-around, saying I had to call his office since he wasn't informed of the rebate status although had no problem using it as a sales tactic come-on. Bottom line, completely dishonest representation of the product. Office contact also very smug (they obviously knew this was a common sales tactic) and a bit surprised that Costco does such a poor job vetting the contractors they allow in their stores!

They've come back a few times and after installing new coils, etc, it's like a new unit. They seemed knowledgeable, but I did have some serious complications with the installation. It took quite a bit of work for them to figure out what the problem was, but it's working fine now.

Learned about this company through Costco, so I had no fear of contacting them. From the initial contact with their salesman, Cesar, I was impresssed by their ability to provide me with a great product at a great price. Two days later the new unit was installed, on my roof, running and cooling my home. Pedro and Miguel, and supervisor Frank, handled the installation in the most professional manner imaginable. The work was meticulously done and it was a difficult installation due to poor work done during the installation of the old unit by another provider. I am very grateful for the product and service I received from Solar Bear.

I contacted Solar Bear through Costco, and received a good Costco member discount. They installed a new 2.5 ton compressor and converted the inside part from a very noisy "pancake" or air coil system to an encased air handler. We lost our entry way closet but gained a more efficient and much quieter air handler. The Solar Bear folks were informative, friendly and professional. They were much cheaper than other big brands, with the Costco discount and backing.

After a late start, they at least called to say they'd be late--salesperson Andrew said he'd make up for it in price, which he did--above system was $2,660 inclusive of everything--they even pick up tax and do paperwork for FPL rebates, license permitting etc. The process was painless and they were very professional, conscientious and VERY METICULOUS in installation process. Took their time and got everything perfect. This also included a beautiful Honeywell digital thermostat which they installed as well as a one year service contract aside from 10 year warranty. I can be very tough, but these guys really stand out from many other less then ethical AC companies out there. DID I BURY THE LEAD--they're affiliated with COSTCO which is what drew me to them in the first place. They primarily instal LENOX units but did not fit in my confined space. Would def. use them again! Lets make sure they get the billing right and I'll be a very happy AND COOL camper!

We met a representative of this company at a display at Costco and scheduled the appointment for an estimate to repair a broken A/C handler.
A Solar Bear employee came and inspected our A/C unit. The variable-speed motor had stopped working. He gave a quote for replacing the handler and the compressor. The estimate was for a total of $4363. This seemed like a lot, especially because both units appeared to be in good condition.
We later asked someone from Lennox to give an estimate. We knew we could trust them because our friend works for the company and sent someone he trusts. This time, we were told that both units were in excellent condition. Only the motor needed replacement. Needless to say, we were very disappointed with Solar Bear. Their advice seemed aimed to get the most money from us and to make needless repairs.

They were out the day after I called them and had the unit in within 6 hours. They guy knew what he was doing. He was quick, efficient, had good materials, took care of all permits, and I was happy with the service.
