On the 2nd appointment both the woman and her partner/husband came to do the work, on time. The couch was stuffed and re-sown. Then, the patching, sanding, binding and painting was done on the center cushion as well as the area where the cat had scratched. I sat on one side and found it to bumpy. The woman told me to use my "bum" to help the foam move forward in the cushion. I asked her to re-arrange it, which she did. At this point, the center cushion needed to dry so we could not use the couch "for a couple of hours". We did not sit on the couch until later that day in the evening which was approximately 6 hours. the couch was completely dry.
The cushion repairs did not last one day. The binding product she used to smooth the leather began to flake off immediately upon sitting on the couch. Within one day it was obvious that the repair to the cushion did not work and has since peeled and re-torn. It looks worse than before the repairs were done. Also, the foam added to the seat cushions was lumpy and uncomfortable to sit on.
The vendor did offer to come back and repair the repair. We declined. Our feeling was that they are supposed to be the experts and if they could not get it right the first time, it was not going to be any better the 2nd time. We asked for our money back and offered to give them back all their stuffing and foam. They declined.
They finally agreed to give us back the cost of the repair to the cushion only. We were very disappointed since the couch is not usable. The center cushion is actually worse than it was before and the seat cushions were not stuffed correctly and are very lumpy. We would not have paid to have all the cushions stuffed if the center cushion could not be repaired.
We ordered a new couch which was delivered today.
