Critical: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness, Value BEWARE - Coastline Pool Service does sloppy unsupervised work with NO ATTENTION TO DETAIL! Every step of the way there was something else done wrong.. Do your own research and see all the similar stories on YELP! Steve Schaefer’s COMMUNICATION is AWFUL, and will block your cell phone number if you complain. He tries to shift blame on the customer, saying oh you signed this agreement and said it was ok! For sloppy work?!!! Be prepared, they are quick to collect payment the following day, which doesn’t give you any time to inspect all the mistakes! Steve tells me that he has to take out my skimmer box because it is too low. He has his guy put in another skimmer crooked, Steve says “don’t worry it will look great”!!..Pool tile not level (all the way around the pool) which you can clearly see by the water line. The corners on the pool coping originally cut crooked (had to have the pieces cut straight by another company), tile inside skimmer box put on sloppy, Diamond Bright all over pool tile, Diamond Bright inside pool smeared on sloppy, with trowel marks left all over the wall, a leaking pool pump which I paid extra for to set up, a broken return line caused by the “chip out”, which (I had to drain my pool again), and have it repaired by RED RHINO a reputable company, that included a full report with photos of the damage. Steve says he did his own leak detection (it was never discussed with me to do so) and after many requests ,he refuses to pay for the repair.. the list goes on and on... chemicals added and then lost when I had to re-drain the pool to fix the leak.. Steve says NOT RESPONSIBLE for anything! After many complaints, Steve sends his guy back to my house , telling the guy that I still owe him money, (a lie) in order to get him to do the work and remove Diamond Bright from the pool tile. Steve Schaefer is definitely NOT a stand up guy.. Please do your research and see the photos that I’ve posted here or the many bad reviews & photos on YELP!

"This review is fictional and should be removed. The photo of the large hump around the entire pool is the only issue created 100% by Mr [Member Name Removed] when he hired a fence contractor who says he knows nothing about pools to install a huge construction tie beam around the entire pool creating a large structural ridge protruding around the entire pool which cosmetic diamond cannot hide because it sticks out so far. Never in 33 years of business have I ever seen anyone let a fence contractor install a 12"! Beam around a pool! All other small cleanup items were repaired with customers supervision. Tile and coping were signed and approved by customer and customer was 100% happy."

From start to finish the job was done promptly and professionally. The owner Steve Schaefer met us within a day of the first call and we had a preliminary quote on our first visit. We ended up with a totally beautiful pool and spa with all new equipment, a salt system, and a new LED light. Coastline's workers were very courteous and responsive to us when we found little imperfections and always fixed what we pointed out. The end product was well worth the money.

I received a call back from Steve the same day. He arrived on schedule to evaluate the work. After giving us a quote, he honored the coupon without hesitation. His men arrived as promised and completed the work within a couple hours. The installation looks neat and all the rubbish was removed from the property. It was such a pleasure to have the job completed with "NO ISSUES!!"

We recently remodeled our 15 year old pool with new coping, refinish and deck. From the first meeting with Steve to completion of pool renovation, he was extremely professional. He provided a complete written proposal at the first meeting and completed the project in the time frame promised. We met with several pool companies and what sold us was Steve's commitment as an owner to stay involved. He called with updates almost daily and remained involved from start to finish. The pool renovation was exactly what we hoped for. I highly recommend Coastline Pool for remodel/renovation.

Awesome experience from the initial consultation/ree estimate completed by owner Steve to the workmen who came in on time and worked hard each day. They even worked late into the night when weather delays postponed some work. The work is beautiful and made our pool look brand new. They cleaned up when done and left everything nice and neat.
Steve also provides 2 weeks of pool maintenance after the job completion and this gentleman is also knowledgeable and helpful as to pool maintenance. Everyone had a great attitude which is so appreciated.

Very professional, responsive, and competitively priced. Interestingly, when I renovated my home, the contractor installed a color LED light and charged me $2000 for it. It lasted about a month. Coastline told me the light only costs about $1000 installed. They replaced it for much less and even though they ran into some issues with the wiring while installing and it took them longer than expected, they did not charge me more for the installation. I was very impressed and plan to call them in the new year to install a guard rail for me.

Great service. They gave me the estimate back in September 2014 but the ok'd pump was still working so I decided to wait. When it finally broke I called Coastline and they honored the estimate even though over six months had passed. They installed the new equipment within one week of my approving the estimate. The technician was on time, quite friendly, and very professional. He performed the work in a very timely manner. I have asked them to install a new light in my pool because I was so happy with their work.

Steve arrived punctually for quote. Extremely professional, brought all color samples and offered multiple options, some of which I took, some I didn't. Company was recommended by my pool store in Davie (Quality Pool and Patio) and Angie's list also showed great reviews. I was not disappointed.
Knowing the quote was competitive, I signed on the spot and he started the next day (Wednesday). He was complete Friday afternoon and was ready to finish Saturday, but I called him Friday evening requesting a change. He stopped the Saturday work, but completed everything Monday. Great job, well done!

I current have their pool service. thinking that i would be a preferred customer i called to see if Mike the service mngr. could call me. my pool pump had stopped working and I needed to have it replaced. so i called the office and spoke to the secretary explaining the situation. i made it very clear that my pool (the one they service). was not in working condition due to the pump not working. I asked her to have Mike (service mngr.). give me a call asap to see if my pool could return to normal function. well very SAD to say I waited 2 day's and did not receive a phone call. I had to take my business elsewhere which is very upsetting seeing that this company is the one that takes care of my pool on a weekly basis. again very disappointed in the way this was handled. i would not recommend this company for repairs.

From the quote to the final stabilation of the new water in the pool, the job went exactly as planned. The pool is about 22 years old and they had to do a lot of prep work before they could apply the Diamond Bright. The crew was on time, did a great job and cleaned up their mess. I was very pleased with the final result.

I have no complaints, they are providing better than adequate service. I would consider based on my experience with pool service companies in South Florida that they provide excellent service. They are prompt, they are on time, they respond to any particular questions or service calls I have. I believe they provide a very good service at a fair price.

Coastline Pool Service installed a heater for our spa back in 2005 and we were very happy with the experiance. We decided to use them again this year to convert our spa to a salt chlorination system. We were not disappointed. The owner came out and gave us 3 options for salt chlorination. Coastline did a nice job for us again and our salt chlorinator is the best thing we have purchased for our spa. We received the lowest price from this contractor and they have been a pleasure to deal with.

Monthly pool service by Coastline was great. John kept our pool sparkling clean and provided excellent service. However, every time we called Coastline to troubleshoot/ create a service estimate for a problem (Steve), they came back with *very high* quotes that sometimes included unnecessary equipment. This happened more than once. We got quotes from other sources including the manufacturers of the pool equipment that indicated very simple and inexpensive solutions. The first time this happened, I caught it before it cost us any money. Coastline apologized and we continued using their service. When it happened again, I confronted them (Steve) with it and they became defensive and accusatory. We dismissed Coastline and have since found other service providers for our pool maintenance and service needs.

"Customer satisfaction has been our goal for 22 years at Coastline Pool Service, Inc. We also advertise that we will beat any competitor's price for service, repairs and renovations. We have never performed any repair work for this customer and I cannot believe she wrote this review. I tried to discuss this with her and even offered to meet her and she said no. The event that caused her to cancel the pool service she was happy with was over a light bulb that she purchased herself over the internet and that she apparantly installed incorrectly. After a new bulb was installed for her by an electrician the light worked. This whole issue is troubling to me. We had no involvement here. I find this reveiw to be slanderous. It appears to be a do it yourself project gone wrong by the Member and she is taking out her frustrations on us?"

When we came back from holidays, our pool looked like green ink. I selected Coastline from Angie's List for best ratings. The man came as promised and left me with two estimates: one for fixing the pool, $ 500, one for subsequent regular pool service. Fixing the pool involved completely draining and refilling (water price not included). As the water was neither poisoned nor polluted, only neglected, I went DIY. $75 and 3 weeks later the pool was crystal-clear. The $75 went to Twin Lakes (see separate report) who tested my water regularly (free of charge), gave advice and sold me the chemicals. What upset me most about Coastline: When the pool was fixed, I signed and sent them the proposal for pool service. I never received a reply.

"Our price for a drain and clean is the same as Twin Lakes pools charges for negleted green pools. It was good that you were able to spend 3 weeks shocking your pool by making repeated visits to the pool store and purchasing the chemicals yourself. You saved some money. After your pool was ready for service we would have gladly put you on a weekly pool service. Your review says that you sent a contract to us. Is it possible that we just never received it? Did you follow up with a phone call? I apologize. We are normally very prompt and attentive. Feel free to call and discuss."

I contacted them because my pool cleaner had not shown up for 3 weeks. My pool was green and filthy. Coastline came out the same day I called them, gave me an estimate that day and commenced work the following day. Although there was still some dirt in the pool after the first servicing (the green was gone), subsequent cleaning was good.

They do a good job of cleaning everything. They gave me the best estimate and we liked that. They look for problems and potential problems and they help us to do preventative measures to avoid them. They are punctual, professional and they care about their customers.

Went smoothly. They were very cooperative with paver contractor, working around the schedule. Entire job took approximately 3 days. Started the job and completed on schedule.
