INTERSTATE FREIGHT SHIPPERS

Really bad - spare yourself the trouble and do not use them under any scenario. While scheduling was easy, they 1) overcharged me at move-time, charging a SIGNIFICANTLY higher price than initially quoted, 2) tried to send a truck for pick-up later than the back-end of the pick-up window, causing massive plans disruption and extra costs, and 3) contracted a different delivery company for drop-off from pick-up, making communication impossibly difficult, and 4) brought a driver with no helpers that took forever and forced me to have to coordinate helpers FOR THE DRIVER, which is nuts. Please use someone else.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! Simple 1 bedroom move that Interstate Freight Shippers LLC quoted at $2,997. Did a video call of all Inventory and was assured multiple times that “if there are no additional items, the price will not change.” The Binding Estimate I was given broke down the entire move, total volume, fuel charges, inventory, etc., all but assuring a simple “white glove” move. On move day the moving company that they had brokered the deal out to, Ship 4 U Trans showed up 3 hours late. Was told to sign several forms to make sure it was going to the right location, which were later filled out illegally by the mover, including the Bill of Lading and Inventory. After everything was moved into the truck, I was told that new cost of my move was $9,267. More than 3x the initial agreed upon price. I was initially quoted 423 Cu. Ft of space needed which seemed reasonable, but the movers said I needed 800 Cu. Ft. Keep in mind that I moved the exact same inventory myself prior with a 208 Cu. Ft. U-Haul (minus a couch). Was charged $1,000 for Packing Labor & Materials, $400 for Bulky Articles Handling, $2,000 for a Long Carry, and $3,000 more for the additional space/fuel needed. Also was told that they needed a Cashiers Check for the TOTAL amount that day, rather that the agreed upon $962 that Interstate Freight had assured me of multiple times. Throughout the move I made over 50 calls to both companies, while my items were being held hostage. Eventually I was told “mistakes were made” and they took off $2,293 in false charges. When my items were delivered, only 1/3 of the moving truck was used (clearly not 800 Cu Ft.) and literally everything was broken. All boxes were smashed, TV shattered, entertainment center kicked in, dressers scratched, sticky tape adhesive melted all over every couch cushion. Made a Damage Claim to MovingClaims.net (who I was referred to by Ship 4 U Trans) and was offered $104 for all the damages.

Update #2: Please do not use this business. They made it impossible for us to file for a claim they were so uncooperative. They have this fake apology Which is below, but they made no attempt to settle the claim. It is absolutely a sham organization. Update: The company sent an apology and said that they are investigating the extreme overcharge. So what! Not sufficient. Will I get a refund and what about the scratched furniture? An apology does not mean that they are accepting responsibility and that we will be refunded. They did not provide a contact to talk about the issue. Another reason to Not Use Them! Please do not use them. They brokered our move to Atlas Pro Moving, NJ who were horrible. Interstate took zero responsibility for Atlas’s poor performance (see review below). The Interstate contact had no idea what she was talking about and cheerfully say, “All will be well.” Well it was not. Avoid this company! We were charged almost twice what we were quoted! They are not rated by The Better Business Bureau. Atlas Pro Movers. Possibly the worst company that we’ve dealt with for any reason. The scratched furniture was just the start. They committed to and broke 4 appointments. It’s impossible to get in touch with anyone. They charged us almost twice what was quoted and gave us a whopping $50 for our inconvenience. They were hired by a moving broker, Interstate Freight Shippers, LLC. Avoid them too. They are not certified by the Better Business Bureau. Terrible.

They seem to be pros but very hard sale. They gave me a quote, which I thought was expensive and automatically brought me to the point of down payment without asking if I was accepting the quote. I finally convinced them to give me 3 days to think it over but when I cancelled they kept calling saying that no one could do it cheaper etc. Very disappointed.

such a great experience for something that is usually so stressful. I had to move last minute from Florida to Chicago but Mike and Steve handled everything for me like absolute pros. The movers were super professional and friendly and when they delivered they set my new place up perfectly (I tipped them with falafel lol). 10/10 would recommend!
