He is most excellent at installing, fixing, assembling, etc. It works best for the customer -- should you have him paint -- the customer should buy the paint, and be specific with him on what you want done.. He will do the labor on this, but is not educated on paints per se. He is not fastidious when it comes to say, 'finishing', like cleaning up marks on a wall that he worked to get something heavy hung for you. But he is excellent at getting something heavy, awkward, and odd shaped, hung up for you. I figure I can clean up the smudges on the walls because he's done the hard part that we cannot do!!! My neighbor has also used him for minor electrical installation. My other neighbors call him for most things that in a retirement community, they cannot do themselves, like clean out attics, put up and take down Christmas decorations, fix lamp posts, etc.
Description of Work: Jim Morrow has done a variety of things for us over time. Recently he provided wall spackling/touchups for us, touch up painting and moved some very art pieces to different walls in our home. On artwork, he is efficient, incredibly adept at take our idea of placement and converting that into the exact measurements needed to hang it in the most appropriate spot. He is very very smart that way. Among the many other things does for us, he has fixed sprinkler system, retesting to ensure its working properly; prepared a house for final inspection prior to sale [repairs, painting, clean up, removal of stains and marks in a variety of places]]; done heavy yard work; installed heavy brackets on our exterior house stucco walls to include heavy gauge garden hose brackets, flag bracket, etc.. He is patient, thoughtful, understanding and kind, and a VERY hard worker. We will use him again and again

He has done several things for us over time and he is on time, no nonsense and gets right down to getting your stuff done. Many of the tasks when he does with painting, you must provide the paint and be specific about what you want painted. He's not a broad adviser type on approaches toward a work project. He just does whatever you tell him to do. He can paint floors, doors rooms, and fix nicks in walls and feather in a touch up to make it like its new. Saved us huge headaches this summer in clearing out of a house and getting it ready for settlement. He can repair or replace faucets too. He's good. Really good and reliable handymen are tough to find especially in retirement communities where much of the effort lies where older citizens can no longer do the physical work that they used to.
Description of Work: Jim Morrow is a handyman who is just a local small town guy who is a simple, earnest and a hard worker who is raising his family. He is not sophisticated per se, but there is little that he cannot do. I am utilizing the category professionalism to peg his tremendous work ethic. He is sincere and works very hard. He takes your needs and everything he does seriously, to do what you want done. He charges $25 per hr plus cost of any materials (parts, paint, whatever other materials) he has to buy to do your job. He will do yard work, paint, hang fixtures, brackets, hang pictures, clean out your attic, fix your sprinkler--he'll even go the extra mile for the customer to track down the vendor with the lowest priced part, he'll finish out touching up that house you are selling when you have moved out and makes it sharp and settlement-ready. He'll clean your windows, clear out your attic, fix you name it and if he can't do it he will tell you. He'll measure and do placement of art according to your eye and then hangs it. He is fast, thorough, and gets right down to getting your job done and done the way you want it. Guy has incredible energy and takes care of business. He never ceases to amaze me. When I asked him, he even washed down my neighbor's mildewed wall facing my home just so our realtor's open house would have the highest chance of success in drawing lookers. It worked. I sold the house in record time in this economy. This guy is honest as the day is long. His business card says he is 'honest, dependable and reasonable'. The card also says 'handyman, assemble, repair, and install'... all these things he has done for me and they are all absolutely true.
