We had major damage to our home from the back to back hurricanes, Frances & Jeanne in September 2004; we put tarps on our roof after the first storm and then FEMA put more on after the 2nd; someone I knew & trusted worked in the accounting office at Duren  Roofing - and still does 11 years later :-) so they were my first call! We were thankful to get on their wait list at the time; we only waited 7 months for the work to be complete; the only issue was that a worker cracked the corner of one of our exisitng skylights when removing the old roof; Duren explained that the old skylights were not Hurricane resistant ones so they needed to be removed and replaced with Dade County approved ones; for some reason, the  CMDADE 'Ford' skylights - made by Birdview Skylights in Ft. Worth, TX - that Duren installed during the re-roof do not state on them that they are Miami-Dade approved; this has caused a LOT of issues over the past 10 years with various home insurance companies! (As many of you know if you reside in South Florida and live East of A1A, finding a quality insurance provider can be a challenge - and having EVERYTHING up to Miami-Dade hurricane code is critical or you will pay an enormous premium!) Upon my request, Duren did provide us with a 'Notice of Acceptance' (NOA) - a copy of a FAX sent to Duren on 7/19/2003 that was barely legible - that we've kept to prove to our home insurance providers that the skylights are indeed Miami-Dade certified.
The company owner, Mr. John Duren, has been to our home on several occasions over the past 10 years to inspect our roof at the request of insurance companies, etc. He is always very prompt and courteous.
Duren was my first call after the hail storm on 4/27/2015; I have bids from several local roofing companies; my husband & I are debating going with a metal roof this time, so we have not selected a roofing contractor yet.

these guys are good   I have used them twice now and they do exactly what they say they will. The salesman worked with me in regards to how I was billed . I preferred hourly as opposed to one lump sum and they had no problem with this.   the work is quality and the workers are very helpful.  I will definitely be using them again in the future

Techs were good but came unprepared. Had to go get shingles as they said they needed to match, the roof. They then used a light grey on a dark roof... Looks like cra..! Then sent bill for more than they quoated. Probably not a good choice if you value quality and integrety. The good news is they did the poor job promptly.

I had several estimates on my roof leak and chose Duren for the job.  The repaired the leak in a timely matter and showed me through pictures each step of the process.  It has been over 6 months and no signs of the same leak. I would highly recommend them and personally use them again.

Big leak apparently from the old flashing used. Duren representative came out promptly and said this: "Oh, the skylight  didn't fail!" $1500 estimate to fix it. No thanks. Triune promptly fixed it and told me about the cracked flashing. They also built a curb around the skylight to deflect water. Still had to pay $1500 but at least it was fixed correctly by guys who stand by their quality.

The whole experience was a disaster from the beginning.  We found the leak and after I pulled up some of the roofing paper, I found extensive water damage to wood inside the portico including structual lumber that was totally rotted out.  I contacted our property manager Bristol Management to find out if any other properties had the same problem.  I was told that nine other properties were experiencing leaks.  They suggested I allow them to find a roofer to take care of all of the roofs and get a better price.
The roofer they contracted with had 2 men remove the old roof and were expected to replace the damaged wood which included several 4 x 12 inch beams.  After the 2 men arrived and began the work, my wife and I went to lunch and returned 45 minutes later as the men were just finishing up.  I was shocked that they had supposedly done all the work involved in an hour.  When I questioned them about replacing the damaged beams they said they had.  I was a former General Contractor and estimated it would take about a day and a half to do the job.  I asked them where the old wood was and they said it was already removed by truck.  I knew they were lying and the wood could not be replaced in that short amount of time.  I contacted the company and asked for a representative to see me.
One did show up and later that day and I told him what happened. He told me they had replaced the ashalt, nailed new 2x4's to the old wood and that was all they would do.  I told them I would not pay for the work since I knew it was not done correctly.  You can't nail untreated wood to rotted wood and expect it to last or survive a hurricane.  It also invites termites.  This representative threatened me and told me "to leave or else."  I stood there and demanded to know "or else what?  This is my house."  I called Bristol Management and the roofer and demanded a meeting.
Later that afternoon, another representative from the company, a represenatitive of Bristol Management and a City of Jupiter Building Inspector came and inspected the work.  When I demanded that the new roofing paper be removed for a thurough inspection, the inspector looked at the damaged wood and how they had "repaired" it and said, "Oh my God!"  They had nailed the 2x4's to rotten wood and then tried to cover up the work before we could see it.  They had even used my 2 x 4's that I had to hold down a tarp.

I fired the first company and contacted Duran.  They explained that with the damaged wood, they could not give me an exact price but it would be around $1800 plus a few more for new permits and repairs.  It took an additional two weeks but eventually 2 men arrive and they did a great job in removing all of the rotted wood and replaced it with new wood then closed it up before putting a new asphalt roof on top.  The work they performed was excellent.  It took 2 men 1 1/2 days to do all the work.
My problem came with the bill.  It was around $3800.  They had billed me for 40 man hours.  The time the 2 men spent on my job was 24 man hours.  I contacted the company and they sent me the time cards of the workers.  The time cards show that I was being charged for travel time to and from their facilities in Stuart to Jupiter where I lived and also the time it took them to clean their trucks each night.  I was also charged an additional 8 hours for work they did not do.  After they told me that it was common to charge for travel time and cleaning their trucks, I pointed out that they had also charged me for an additional 8 hours.  They appologized for the extra 8 hours and took that off the price, but still charged me for the travel and cleaning time.  The result was that I paid the bill but will not use them again since I feel they had charged me for items that were not explained to me in advance.  If they had explained it, I may have looked for another company that would not charge travel and clean up time.

It was great. They were very professional. They did it in the middle of hurricane season. I never worried about the state of the roof they left it in each night. I would recommend them to anyone who needs a shake roof.

They didn't do a good job on the repairs and had to come back and redo it, charging me an extra $4000-$5000.  At best, I would say they are incompetant and slippery.

Our realtor contacted the owner, who came out the next day to give us an estimate for some roof damage to a house we were buying. We only got the one estimate on repair. The estimate was a little higher than I was hoping, but probably pretty reasonable. The workers who came were extremely professional, definitely seemed to be Well experienced, and very courteous and polite. They also did a great clean-up job once they finished. I would definitely recommend this company and would use them again.

They professionally answere my call, showed up on time, kept to their estimate and cleaned up well after themselves and were always available during the entire process. Their men, trucks and service was top shelf and I am picky so am used to being dissapointed, especially by the roofing trade. This experience left me shaking my head each time they left but due to my amazement at their professionalism

We hired Duren Roofing to repair a leak the summer of 2008. After sending their estimator and inspector out, Duren gave us a price to make the repair. The work was done, but the roof continued to leak in the same spot. When Duren returned and inspected, no information was given to us on site, and it was only after the estimator returned to the office that it was reported to us there was a "different" leak and another fee would have to be charged. We agreed to do what was necessary to solve the issue. After this work was completed, the roof began to leak again in the same spot. Duren's estimator came out, inspected again, and after going back to the office, forwarded another estimate, saying more work was necessary. Growing suspicious, we declined to continue with Duren's services and contacted another contractor. The new contractor confirmed our suspicions. We were told our roof would continue to leak because mechanical fastners had not been sealed. We solved the leak problem for $800 with the new company on our roof for only 2 hours, and we haven't had a leak since. It's 2010. We felt foolish and cheated. After discussing the experience, we did learn from others in our community that this is not an uncommon experience with this company. Beware!

Hired this contractor to repair a leak in roof, workmen removed the wrong area of the roof and did not solve the leak problem, this company also charged for travel time to and from the job. They did not finish the work and another roofing company had to complete the job. Also became entangled in a lawsuit with this roofer.

They did arrive on time, removed old material. However, somehow worker(s) fell through ceiling. No one bothered to say anything until I walked in house and found ceiling lying on dining table. I asked the "Foreman", Jeff Herrick to come in and asked him if he saw anything unusual. He mentioned that he would repair any damage. I told him I would talk with my husband. Months later when replacing the air conditioner, closet ceiling was collapsed. Contacted them via email and phone regarding another problem with no inspection yet. Almost a year now, no final inspection done, still. I cannot request an inspection, only the contractor can, according to the building and zoning department of Palm Beach County.
