"This customer went back up north after installation and did not leave the humidistat on which caused the wood to swell and buckle. Moisture is a problem with solid wood flooring and we told her to make sure the humidistat was left on. The moisture level when we went back to check it out was extremely high and at first we thought there had been a leak in a pipe under her slab. Research indicated it was not a leak so it had to be the humidity. We had had unusually rainy weather while she was gone. We felt bad for her and tried to help by offering to install tile for her but she would have to cover the cost of the tile. The labor would be free but she wanted us to cover the cost of the tile as well. We couldn't justify the cost since it was not our fault. Therefore, she is not happy with us."
"Due to the scope of the work that (Member name removed) contracted us to do we were required to pull permit for the electrical and plumbing work that was to be done. Therefore we contracted with a General Contractor to pull the permit and do the work that was not in our scope. To pull the permit took time and no work could be done without the proper permit. The General Contractor finally secured the permit and started the work that he needed to do. Then (Member name removed) started changing her mind as to what she wanted and didn't want. We tried to accommodate her as much as we could at our cost. The General Contractor got so frustrated that he quit and we had to hire a new General Contractor to finish the work. The electrical contractor had the same problem with (Member name removed) changing what she wanted and the simple one day job turned into a week. The plumber came in and moved the plumbing and then she didn't like the fixtures that she had purchases and wanted different ones put on. The problem was the valve in the wall was Moen and she had bought American Standard and they don't interchange. We had to wait for the inspections with the building department and they work at their own pace. (Member name removed) didn't understand why we couldn't keep working when we were waiting for the inspections. My secretary tried to explain but she thought she was saying we had other work to do so we were putting her off which was not the case. Every time (Member name removed) changed something there became a delay because of inspections. She then wanted additional work done without paying for it. We gave her a price at cost but she still was not happy with it. We had put down paper to keep her carpet from getting soiled and because there was a delay because of inspections she threw it all out and we had to replace it to protect her carpet. We do a professional job with the best contractors available and her bathroom turned out to be beautiful. She had the ceiling raised, shower completely remodeled and tiled, glass block put in for a door, tile the floor, new cabinets with granite counter top. New shelving in the closet, new lighting and they moved the hot water heater. No job was more important than theirs. We don't get paid until it is finished so it is in our best interest to finish as quickly as possible. If (Member name removed) hadn't kept changing her mind, it would have been done in a couple of weeks depending on the permits. You'll note that she didn't say the work was wrong. She was very happy with the results. Her only complaint was the time it took to complete the job and that was because of her changes and the inspections."
