On 3 separate occasions over several years, Action has repaired this unique, out-of-production range when Sharp factory-authorized repair centers have declined requests. Lenny is thoroughly professional, efficient, and congenial. The entire team is thoroughly organized and customer-service oriented. The repairs included replacement of the "brain," replacement of the thermocouple and replacement of a burner. We couldn't be happier with the experience! One might ask, "Why not replace the range?" It cost nearly $1,500 ten years ago, and the entire kitchen was redesigned around its unique features (waist-high microwave drawer above a conventional/convection oven with a completely unobstructed cooktop). It is irreplaceable.

This company was excellent. I had a washer repair to be done (my washer was still under factory warrantee) ...The technician (Lenny) came to my house diagnosed the problem in minutes. He ordered the part (a pump) that day, and after a week the part came in and he was back at my house to do the repair. He was on time for both visits, and called me to tell me he was on the way, so I did not have to take the day off from work. He was pleasant, knowledgeable, and took great care not to mark my floor or walls when he moved my machine to fix it. When he was done, he even balanced the machine so it would not move. He was extremely thorough, even conscientious. I wish he had been the person who delivered and installed it originally. He even put towels down to catch any water that might escape the hose, and was more than willing to wear shoe covers which I had on hand, before walking on my carpet. I highly recommend this company they were extremely pleasant, (even the ladies on the phone), and I was assured that if I had any problem related to the repair that I should call and they would be back out as soon as possible. This guy was the perfect tech for an OCD person such as myself!!! I will definitely use them again, and even reqest the same technician, although I hope I don't have the need in the near future!!!

All in all it was a pleasant experience....I think that the flat service call of $85 is a little high, considering I had to pay it twice!

Refrigerator interior light would not come on or LED display work. After trouble shooting the basics myself, light bulb, door switch, and other connections I call Action Appliance (recommended by Maytag) to service the unit. Tech showed up at prescribed time, checked the same basic things I did and proceeded to make calls to others for help. Places call to Maytag support, they tell him it is the main processing board in the rear of the unit. Time spent < 30 minutes = $65 Office calls me back explains my refrigerator is not under warranty and that this board will be $400 plus install cost. When asked if I could buy the board from them and install it myself no problem. (I am a Technical Director installing hardware is something I can do all day long) They give me the part number and I will call them back with my decision after I talk to my wife. I find the board online for less than half the cost they quoted me. Wanting to give the business local I call them back and tell them what I have found. They reduce the cost to me (still more than online, but I am happy to support local business). I order and pay for the board. 1 week later the main board arrives, when I am on the phone with the offices I tell them I will swing by and pick it up. She then explains to me that another service call is needed to install the main board, to which I respond with I was going to install it myself as we talked about before. Well If I install it myself and if there is a problem with the part there is no warranty, even if it shows up DOA. There are 3 connectors on this main board, there is no way to confuse which plug goes where, not rocket science at all or is it? After going around with her and her lack of explanation of this to me prior to me buying this part from them, I agree to another service call. If I would have known this, I would have bought the part online because I had every intention of installing it myself. The following week a different tech shows up to install this main board, he has no clue where this board goes and proceeds to take the interior of the frig apart. After several calls he is instructed to look in the lower rear of the unit and this is where he will find the old one. (this was outlined on the drawing I found online when I was going to install the board myself). Time spent 1 ½ hours = $65 plus time to restock the frig after everything was removed so he can take apart the inside of the frig looking for the main board. All in all the refrig light and LED display works, we can see what we have in there now as well as the temp for both sides, plus. I shouldn’t have to look up prices to keep them honest and be held hostage to having them install a part because of their warranty procedures. I could have bought the part online for less than I did (including shipping), installed it myself and had a warranty greater than what they gave me, all in half the time and saved over $100. But then again I did want to support the local economy.
