SDF Contracting LLC

Our experience with SDF was absolutely outstanding (approx $20k project). We've done major home and rental property renovations over the decades and we cannot speak more highly of SDF and we plan to continue working with them. Our project manager (Cameron) managed his teams closely, contacted us regularly on updates and on decision factors. He was also incredibly timely in handling unexpected issues that required work-arounds, to the degree that they were reading my mind; an issue would arise, I'd call, and he'd say he'd seen that and handled it. It was truly incredible. Unlike other companies, I felt like they did not treat every challenge as a problem that needed to be handed back to the customer. They were "solutioners" through and through. In addition, billing and record keeping was detailed and transparent, making payment process easy. And in general, everyone we worked with were great people, good values, easy going. Could not speak more highly of this group.

I contacted over 15 (Yes I said 15) licensed contractors before selecting SDF Contracting LLC, owned by Shawn Fernald.  My father was a contractor so I was very selective who we used and I did my due diligence throughly before hiring him.  I also researched his subs as well, such as plumbing, electrical, framers etc., who also had great ratings. We converted a 1920 house, located in St. Petersburg, to a dental office. As you can imagine this old structure needed a lot of upgrades. This project entailed drafting civil and architectural plans, installation of an underwater storm drain, paving of the alley, parking lot install, demolition, adding a 350 sq ft addition, ALL NEW: plumbing, AC, windows, electrical, roofing, refinished heart pine flooring etc. He was knowledable is all areas of construction.  He was very detailed and made recommendations on how we could save money without compromising quality.  He is a 3rd generation contractor who has an amazing work ethic and best of all is honest.  We are currently having him add on to our house and also rehab another rental property of ours. I highly recommend using his company!  We are glad we did.
