To preface: I previously solicited quotes from 5 different companies (many A rated here on Angie's List) for the same job.  Of those, I only found two of them to be technically competent, explaining in detail how they would build out in order to fit the larger impact doors.  Three of the quotes had errors (quoted the incorrect number of doors/windows after coming out and measuring) or were grossly unprofessional (a single number written on a brochure -no itemization or anything approaching a real quote/contract offer and/or high pressure with a slimy salesperson vibe).  Unfortunately, there was no overlap so I wasted a lot of time meeting contractors and found none that I trusted from a business and technical aspect.  I gave up on the entire job.  I was lamenting the dearth of competent tradespeople at my favorite watering hole (Tikanis on Bay Pines Blvd) when a patron next to me recommended Steve Roseberry and sung his praises.  I looked for Steve here on AL and was disappointed to find no reviews and called him for a quote after checking out his license on MyFlorida.  Before hiring him, I called one of two references he provided at my request and the person just raved about him.
Steve walked me through how he would complete the job and provided an itemized quote as requested.  I had a few follow up questions and he was responsive via email/text.  Throughout the job he was very conscientious and kept the work area clean and neat (even when I told him he could leave it messy overnight when he was returning the next day).  He showed up and worked (by himself!) on time and did not seem to cut any corners and did the job the way I would have done it myself had I the time and skills.  Several of the doors needed adjustment/rework to fit and function properly (a couple we noticed and one that he noticed and fixed -I only know because I asked him, he was just fixing the problem to make sure it was done right).  The enamel on the handles of several doors were either delivered damaged or chipped during installation.  Steve touched them up but they were unacceptable to us.  When I mentioned this, he replaced all the handles and not just the ones that we brought up as unacceptable but even the ones we said we could live with.  -This is after final payment was made on the installation so we had little leverage should he not have agreed to replace the handles we found unacceptable.  I have no doubt that he would come back out again if we notice anything else as we use our new doors.
I have no reservations in recommending Steve.  It is really hard finding an honest and competent contractor with integrity; I am glad I found him and will hire him again and wholeheartedly recommend him. Oh, and he was less expensive than all 5 of the quotes I got when I just gave up.

Overall Pretty Good. Ordered a new door from Home Depot, but they wouldn't install it because minor drywall modifications were required and they only do ''pull out and slap in jobs.'' Found this company in yellow pages and the owner/contractor agreed to provide an estimate for the install before the new door arrived. The initial estimate given was $350 and 6 hours of labor. When the contractor showed up on the initially scheduled installation date, he found that I'd mismeasured the door frame's jam width (it was 6 inches vs 4) and we would have to order a new frame. It was prestained mahogany and he did not want to risk damaging it by cutting it down to 4 in. Took us 6 weeks to get a new frame ordered & delivered (completely disassembled). Re-scheduled the installation and contractor and his apprentice showed up on time. It took 9 hours to get the new door reframed, hung, and installed, but final price was $505 because of re-framing and they didn't finish the stucco repair.
