The Sprinkler Man

On November 27th, 2020, "The Sprinkler Man" came to my home to repair the sprinkler system in my back yard. They charged me $500 for re-hooking up and burying about 50 feet of pipe and installing 3 sprinkler heads. They spent about 2 hours on the job. I later learned that I paid about twice what the highest charging irrigation person would have charged. I'm not posting this because of the over-charging. BUT.... About 2 months later, on Friday, February 5, 2021, I noticed that my shrubs were looking worse than I would expect for this time of year, so I thought that I should manually turn on the sprinkler system since it was scheduled to automatically come on at 3 am, a time that I was rarely up. I discovered that my sprinklers were not coming on and that a large puddle was being created in one spot in the back yard. I immediately called Reece, the manager with "The Sprinkler Man". He answered the phone, I explained to him what I saw, and he said he would be out either later that afternoon, depending on the weather, or the next morning. I turned off the sprinkler system at that time. The reason I'm posting this is because... That was the last I ever heard from anyone with "The Sprinkler Man". Today is the 19th of February. It's been 2 weeks. Attached are copies of the phone logs and text messages that went without a single reply. Attempts to communicate (Phone & Text) with either Michael "Reece" Pahota the manager, or Leonard James, the owner of Leonards Landscaping and Irrigation also known as "The Sprinkler Man" business. On Tuesday, February 16, 2021, I dug up where the puddling was coming from underneath, this is what I found. Evidently, they used duct tape to cap off an open cut off pipe. I ended up going down to the North Florida Irrigation store, showed them these attached pictures, and they helpfully hooked me up with the instruction and parts to correct the negligent work left behind by Michael "Reece" Pahota the manager, and Leonard James, the owner of Leonards Landscaping and Irrigation also known as "The Sprinkler Man" business. So if you want to pay an extrordinant amount for shoddy work done by people who don't stand behind their shoddy work, and will not reply to your phone calls or text messages, then Michael "Reece" Pahota the manager, or Leonard James, the owner of Leonards Landscaping and Irrigation also known as "The Sprinkler Man" business are your guys! Two very nice, VERY young men arrived and did isolate the problem with one Zone. They did raise the heads in the back zone. However, one of the heads in the flower bed quit working when they fixed the others. Also, the trajectory of the water was changed to water the driveway and road instead of the lawn. Also, they left a huge mess, including trash, and dirty footprints that refuse to come off the driveway and inside the garage. They appear to be dirt mixed with some kind of adhesive. I have left SEVERAL messages for the owner to return my call to discuss the situation. He refuses to either take my calls or return them. I have been very patient and understanding up to this point. However, his unwillingness to address these concerns, after receiving $320 cash for a botched job, has left me with feeling cheated. I have been nothing but nice in my dealings with Mr. Leonard. There is no valid reason he could have to avoid me. I dislike the fact that I have been forced to write a negative review, however, Mr. Leonard's refusal to communicate with me have left me with few options. At this point I wish that I had paid him with a credit card so that I could retract the payment.

Was here on time and did a very good job.  I thought the price was steep but when compared to others it was actually in the ballpark.

They did an outstanding job and were courteous and professional throughout. I would definitely use them again.

He responded promptly to the call and was there the next day on time. He performed the work efficiently and I feel the price was very reasonable. Wish there were more providers like him.

James was on time and quickly replaced all 4 sprinkler valves. He replaced any pipes that were broken or cracked, filled in the dirt, replaced the sod and made sure all the sprinkler zones were functioning properly!

Everything went fine. They quoted over the phone and did the work. The only thing is that they do not take credit cards.

James Leonard and his team provided fantastic service! They were responsive to my needs, listened to and answered my questions, and took the initiative where appropriate to ensure that I have an irrigation system that performs. They were prompt, pleasant, and obviously know their business. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Mr. Leonard answered my phone call promptly, arrived at my house when he said he would, worked efficiently, cleaned up after himself. When I had some concerns later, he turned his truck around and came back to reassure me that things were working as they should and to demonstrate to me how the system worked.
I would give The Sprinkler Man an A+ and recommend him highly.
