HE Feldman & Son

Working with our architect out of Tampa, the home was a "down to the studs" renovation following a complete redesign of the layout and an additional 1000 SF. This massive renovation included building a new entrance / foyer, building an office with separate entrance, adding additional SF for a huge master on the main level, extending and adding a row of french doors across the entire back of the home, redesigning the upstairs to create a more functional 3 bedroom space with TV / rec area and on the first floor creating one level for all interior floors. This required new walls, new windows, all new electrical, plumbing, fixtures and finishes.

After renovating three previous homes in the northeast, I contacted H.E. Feldman the same week we signed the paperwork to buy our 2 bedroom condo. With the renters permission, Todd Feldman met us at the condo to discuss the details of the renovation I envisioned. We agreed on a start date several months in the future. His crew showed up on the agreed date and from that day forward the condo renovation progressed at a steady rate. His workers and subcontractors are all outstanding. It was apparent that the motto is if  its to be done by H.E. Feldman then it will be done to  perfection. The worksite was always cleaned and organized at the end of each day. Working under the restrictions of the condo association on the 4th floor didn't seem to deter any of the workers. I would highly recommend H.E. HE Feldman and Son’s Todd Feldman built a beach house for us on a lot we own in Treasure Island, and we feel he did a fine job for a fair price.
We started the process in late 2011 when we connected with Clearwater designer John Langston IV, who developed plans for the 2-bdr., 2-bath cottage just a couple of hundred yards from the Gulf in Sunset Beach. We then contracted with John’s associate, Todd, to do the demo on our old house, prepare the site and build the house. The coastal building code requires pilings, substantial footers, an 18-inch-thick slab and reinforced piers elevating the first floor 10.5 feet above grade. Todd oversaw all of that.
We visited the site regularly throughout the process and found Feldman’s work to be thorough and of high quality. The beach code also requires shatter-proof windows and reinforced glass doors and many other safety features that made the house strong and tight. Todd provided details for options, too, including a gal-alum metal roof and highly efficient insulation that both provides high R value and added rigidity to the roof. We got almost everything we wanted with the house and many benefits we didn’t expect. Feldman and Langston provided good justifications for not including some features we originally had sought.
I would certainly recommend both men to others seeking high-quality design/build jobs. Todd was busy when we were dealing with him (late 2011 and first half of 2012), so he was not always available on short notice. But he’s organized and hard working, so he always followed up with calls. We think he’s honest, expert in his field and hard working. A year-plus after completion, we’re very pleased with the results. The beach house is built like a rock.

Todd's team was professional and knowledgeable. This was our first kitchen remodel. We were nervous, but Todd was there to answer all of our questions. His team was courteous when working in our home. They were careful about their work. Taking precautions not to damage anything or make too much of a mess. His team worked around the clock to make sure everything was complete in time for some guests we were expecting during the final week of the project. We extremely satisfied with HE Feldman and Sons work. In fact, we plan on having Todd do some more work in our home.

We were nervous about finding a contractor because we are recent Florida transplants, but Todd and his crew did an excellent job with everything on the checklist. The professionalism and attention to detail far exceeded our expectations. Everything was finished on time and on budget. No up-sellng either. Many of Todd's suggestions actually saved us money and provided a better result. We can't wait for winter to use the fireplace.
