GLK Construction Company

I hired GLK construction under Jeremiah Klotz back in July 2023 for design work of almost $10k. They never delivered, and promised to refund our money. He has never returned the money, will not return messages, and is trying to do business as other company names with the same GC license. Do NOT do business with them, you'll lose all of or your money and never get your project delivered!

Just let everyone know, GLK construction and Jeremiah Klotz the owner was recommended by homeadvisor.com Be careful of Home advisor. They dont do their due diligence. Dont trust them either. I personally would never use them again. They are just looking to make a fast buck like everyone else in this scenario, but you are the one that will be on the hook.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! Signed with GLK OVER 2 years ago. Jeremiah Klotz failed to apply for appropriate permits. Has failed inspection with county, and then abandoned the project after taking our money. He has been on ABC action news several times for doing the same to others and has multiple laws against him.

Stay away from them. The whole company has nothing but liars. Signed a contract March of last year. Jeremiah doesnâ t communicate and is unprofessional. We are trying to get our money back. Weâ ve lost thousands of it messing with him. Our plans werenâ t even approved and he sent the guys out here to do the ground work. That same day Mary Ewrin came to get phase 2 payment. Shortly after she left the concrete truck left. We have nothing done. We want our money back! Horrible company.

I wish I would have shared my review when I worked with them years ago. I could have saved many of these reviewers from their nightmares. Do NOT hire this company.

I started to work with Jeremiah on 12/5/2023 on my ADU project. I paid 30% ahead and was waiting for my floor plan so we can start with the permitting process. Well, the designer didn't spoke ANY English , so she showed up with 2 additional people who translated for her. After waiting 6 week for the Floorplan, I received something what was not even close to what we agreed on. We had this back and forth with Jeremiah 5 more times and I still don't had the Floorplan I wanted. I uploaded a designer app and prepared my own Floorplan so we can finally start with SOMETHING! After that they were still able to mess it up 3 more times so I terminated the company. 3 months and $13 000 later, I am still waiting of my refund (keep in mind NOTHING happened and he has 30% of my money still) , he is not answering my phone calls nore my text messages. I am going to hire a lawyer and will put a complaint against this company. If you want to save yourself a lot of trouble, do NOT go with GLK Construction. I regret it deeply that I hired them

Stay far away from this company. My project has mirrored the previous 1 star review in regards to how this company operates and over charges. Jeremiah is a pathological liar, and the quality of work is that of a 1st year apprentice . The hid structural items from the inspectors, my addition was flooded due to a roof leak. The list goes on and on. Jeremiahs excuse for the water leak "well, we are getting a lot of rain, that's why the roof is leaking" ABC action 6 will be broadcasting a show on GLK Construction on 1/31/2024. If you choose not to believe statement or the person previous to me. Maybe the 25 other clients being interviewed would perhaps give you a clearer view. We are in touch with the licensing board, sheriffs department and consumer affairs regarding his business practice. Please stay away from this nightmare

0 stars!!! Be aware - GLK Construction is not trustworthy, not communicating, managers and employees are unable to make decisions, and they work without obtaining required permits. We started off with GLK on October 7, 2022 for a full house remodel (incl. Tile floors, bathrooms, kitchen, cabinets, windows). The initial contract value was $84,078.93 and grew to approx $90k based on desired or required change orders. We ensured that contract included all needed specifications, especially that all work will be properly permitted. We were to provide tiles, fixtures, lights, etc while GLK provides kitchen, windows, labor, project management, permitting, support material. We engaged with GLK Owner, Jeremiah Klotz, directly for contracting, communications and escalations. Their project manager was absolutely unqualified, never produced any project documentation (plan, timelines, status). The owner at one point requested us to perform Quality Control and we ended up drive this project ourselves, as best we could, creating issue logs, status notes etc. The initial timeline to completion was 4 weeks, with promised completion on Nov 1, 2022. The work finished on June 6,2023. The significant and outstanding issue is the permitting of the renovations. Besides plumbing, electrical changes, doors had been replaced and, as per GLK Suggestion, a load carrying pole was replaced with a LVL beam to open up the kitchen. Timeline: GLK requested 30% upfront to get started, paid Oct 5, 2022. First phase, demolition, was done fast. Once done, they asked for the 2nd 30%, paid Nov 4, 2022 Phase 2 included flooring and kitchen and bathrooms. In phase 2, he requested additional payments tiling (as he did not properly plan or budget for Satillo tiles). GLK requested us to pay the next 30% before completion of this phase (kitchen backsplash not done, cabinets not finished, bathroom not properly done), paid Nov 18, 2022. After we payed 90% in November, work slowed down with minimal to no progress for months. We reached out, escalated and were promised progress but nothing happened - until we engaged a lawyer and provided a first review sharing our experiences in February 2023. Within days we got proactive reach out from GLK asking us to take the reviews down, in return they promised to finish the project properly, and to our satisfaction. Work was completed on June 6, 2023. Outstanding was obtaining permitting after the fact. On below detail timeline, GLK Owner was either addressed or cc'ed in any communication. July 13, 2023 GLK Owner email responded that he needs to check with the engineer as he was just waiting for him to stamp and seal the plans. July 17, 2023 GLK Owner email responded on plans for permit July 27, 2023 GLK Owner responded he needs a site visit for LVL Beam Aug 12, 2023 a subcontracted designer performed site survey Sep 21, 2023 design plan provided for review by subcontractor Oct 10, 2023 final plans received Oct 11, 2023 GLK Office Manager confirmed she will take ownership to collect documents and submit to county Oct 16, 2023, we provided copy of ID for Notice of Commencement we had signed in October 2022 Nov 16, 2023 GLK Office Manager email responds GLK Owner will be providing status update on permit same day Nov 17, 2023 I checked with the county on any permit requests- nothing had been filed Nov 17, 2023 GLK Office Manager email response GLK Owner will provide update Nov 30, 2023 GLK Office Manager advised that the plan needs changes by the engineer. The design subcontractor, who created the plan, had not been contacted by GLK. Nov 30, 2023 - GLK Office Manager email responded GLK Owner will provide update. Highly organized and professional! Answered all of my questions, even though I had way too many! First remodel, am so happy with my finish! Will be calling them soon to help with deck and other ares of our home. Thank you!

They are a very good contractors. I would use them again. They are true to their word. We've used them for several projects, already.
