First, they were so late that I had to leave. I had already arranged to go into work late, but I could not wait for them any longer. Second, the appraisal had some major discrepancies on it that they were asked to correct. They refused. For instance, I have an architectural roof, and they put it down as standard shingle. This makes a difference in my homeowner's insurance premiums. They pulled the wrong FEMA map and said I was in a flood zone. They listed the closest park as 10 miles away, which is one on my block. When I decided to go with another lender, they tried to recharge me for another appraisal. If your lender suggests that you use them, run.
