continued with our Contract, but he breached the Contract by e-mail on a Friday night. Companies like this give all General
Contractors a bad name. I was very blessed to find another General Contractor, Yeti Construction, who completed the work
although the short time-frame cost me more money. Do NOT hire SeaCoast Construction. I finally gave up on SeaCoast
Construction when the Owner's temper got the best of him. Bad experience for me as a single woman who depended on SeaCoast to make this contracted work happen on time and on budget.
"Our contract was for demo work, sheetrock patch& texture, & replacement windows. We signed contact 7/25 & started 7/27 with completion in 30 working days. Seacoast was not hired as a General Contractor, the owner assumed that role, as she hired her own electrical, plumbing, tile and painting people( I gave her several names of different subs). [Member name removed] was told from the start by myself and other subs that she was scheduling tile man too soon Mon 8/10. We started demo Mon 7/27 & Finished Wed 7/29 ready for electrical/plumbing on Thurs 7/31. [Member name removed] did not get electrical/plumbing under contract until Tues 8/4. Sheetrock crew was scheduled for Wed 8/5, but when they showed up electrical/plumbing was not ready , & would be atleast another 1 1/2 day. Unfortunately Sheetrock crew could not let his men sit around for 2 days waiting and said he would reschedule for the following Tues 8/11 or Wed 8/12, but the owner was not willing to try to reschudle the tile man. Electrical/Plumbing finished late Thurs 8/6, This is when [Member name removed] Demanded that I get the sheetrock done before the tile man came in Mon 8/10, and this is when she decided to Delay the windows from starting Fri 8/7. I was out of town but had phone calls in to different sheetrock guys Fri 8/7 to find a contractor to work the weekend at no charge to the owner . All of my attempts to make her happy did not go well. I did have a sheetrock crew on standby to go in Sat 8/8 and complete Sun 8/9. I was asked to drop off the keys but not come by Sat8/8 because she was meeting with tile guy. I returned the keys to her house Wed 8/12( I return to town Tues 8/11) to see that she hired a different sheetrock crew which just started that day, same day as my original sheetrock crew would have started. I am not sure what she was thinking, but 1st she did not pay in full, 2nd she shorted the 1st draw, & now I beleive she is trying to leave me hanging with $ 3,000.00 worth of new replacement windows custom ordered for her home. There was never a two week schedule, our contract stated 30 days. As far as Breach of Contract the owner was at fault due to non payment of scheduled amounts, ordering windows and trying to cancel . Apparently Owner did not feel I was working Fast enough for her. She has been issued all the Credits for work that was not performed, and I am awating a call as to when we can schedule delivery fo her windows."
Seacoast worked with us on price, and the installation start date. They were very professional, prompt, courteous and cleaned up at the end of each day. They came when they said they would, and stayed until the job was done to our satisfaction. When they discovered two of the impact resistant windows had been damaged at the factory, they immediately put them back on the truck and expedited replacements. They returned the day after they received them from the factory and installed in one day. Terry Crawley (the President and owner) oversaw all the operations, and his sons did all the work.
We couldn't be happier with the quality, price , and professionalization of Seacoast Construction Services and wholeheartedly recommend them for windows, or any other construction project you have in mind.
